I can't fault the NewYork Times or msnbc for pushing the narrative that OccupyWS was a political awakening the likes of which we have waited decades for.

No MBA candidate should be issued a diploma until he or she has put in 12 months of work as a rank-and-file worker -- office, hospital, assembly line or driving a truck, doesn't matter. Once they experience that, perhaps they'll be less inclined to engage in mass layoffs of workers in order to boost their shareholders' dividends. Right now, unfortunately, the American business school model teaches that all workers are expendable. It no wonder people are so riled up.

That would create more jobs. We would need thousands of 'MBA minders' who could get all pre-emptive on people who want to get business degrees. Pitch it to whichever czar is in charge of the war on prosperity.Could be a winner.

Shouldn't they be occupying Washington? That's where the real BS comes from. Seems the movement lost focus with all the professional homeless moving in, not to mention drug-addicts, and gangs. Not sure I want these people leading the next generation.

Jforce, the whole point of the movement is that a small handful of big business are buying politicians (sort of like amakudari in Japan), so the protestors are taking the problem to the source. Or were.

Well put Export. Could this article have been more biased towards the OWS movement? I heard a lot of people say that 'New Yorkers overwhelmingly supported the movement'. Yeah, maybe down in the city where all the freaks live. But further upstate I can still recall the woman beside me when they boldly asserted themselves into the local Veteran's Day parade screaming 'losers'.

Being against corporate greed and abuse is one thing. But a rather ill-defined purpose of cause, coupled with the infusion of kids looking to emulate their 60's idols and the general homeless crazies that invaded the cause and their camps made it all seem rather ridiculous. Throw in the litter, crime and cost to the taxpayers for porta-johns and police presence, etc and it ads up to something less than stellar. Supporters will crow otherwise of course, as they want us to believe it's 'main stream America speaking out'. I think main stream America doesn't have time to go sit in a park for weeks on end without earning an actual living.
