Geez... these guys just got slammed like this in 2009, but a friend who's been in Manilla for several years said this is worse. I hope people can donate, and those closer to the devastated areas can help in other ways as well. With Philippines' building standards being relatively low, there's going to be a LOT of gutted houses and buildings (if they haven't been washed away), not to mention even more misplaced people.

So in the Philippines, we see a month's worth of rain dumped in 48 hours, while half way around the world the mighty Mississippi River is literally drying up. There's a massive drought across most of the central United States. We are beginning to see a major shift in global weather patterns. What is even more disturbing is that this sort of weather might become permanent for the foreseeable future.

¿El niño? ¿La niña? Not too sure, but I know this year, the weather all over the world is really, really CRAZY! I hope the good people of the Philippines get help ASAP!! Mabuhay!!
