I suppose the Americans will prosecute him as an adult and execute him after his 18th birthday

Huh? No. But there are those who would like too. Strangely enough they are the same people who think giving an 8 year old a .22 for Christmas is appropriate, and are much more likely to do so now that Obama is president elect.

Best wait to find out what kind of abuse might of occurred. For all we know, his father and father's friend got what they deserved.

Well, if they do not interview the boy properly, we will probably get tales of alien anal probes and satanic rituals.
True that those guys might have earned their fates, but its also possible they boy earned every whipping he got. I have seen some real handfuls. Recently I saw one throw a rock at a teacher. No doubt that boy finds himself totally justified.

There's no way a judge will allow an eight-year-old boy to be tried as an adult. So, if he is "convicted" he may go to a detention facility until he's 18. Then he will be released, and his record sealed. So he will start his adult life with a clean slate.
Any evidence obtained from the initial interview mentioned in the story will likely not be usable in court.

The boy very well may have been physically or sexually abused . We don't know the whole story. But what's up with your post? Do you have an issue with children?

Helter: "Best wait to find out what kind of abuse might of occurred. For all we know, his father and father's friend got what they deserved."
That's a pretty sick viewpoint. I most certainly agree that the abuse factor should be looked into; but you're saying that if they abused the boy they both deserved what could have been premeditated murder?? I'm sorry, my friend, but even in the most extreme cases saying someone 'deserves' death is just wrong. This kid committed heinous crimes, and he knows it now, and is extremely scared. If it comes out that the boy was abused, he deserves some good psychiatric care and a lesser sentence, but in no way does he deserve a pardon and a pat on the back for pulling his own brand of vigilante 'justice'.
I do kind of think this is timely, given the article just the other day about Republican gun-nutters rushing to the local gun 'n ammunition stores in droves because they're afraid Obama might tighten the controls; maybe Ms. Smith, who went off to buy her son a 12-gauge shotgun for Christmas (and he is only a couple years older than this boy) will think twice about giving and teaching him how to use it. Probably not, but it always takes these gun-nuts a few family casualties to catch on that guns are not only NOT necessary, but are murderous.

Caveman: I didn't notice you said a similar thing about 'earning their fates' as Helter (albeit it, in a much less self-righteous tone). As I said to him, you don't earn death from abuse. You earn punishment, for sure, but not with your own life as the cost... And anyway, abuse has yet to be determined.

Oh, for goodness sakes. Yes smith, some people deserve death for their actions. And juries have acquitted people of murder in cases where they've been victimized and abused. So spare us the bleeding heart nonsense. So predictable for the libs to be more concerned about the perpetrator than the victim.

This kind of crime will sure bring out the cave man emotions in Americans, prosecutors are calling for the death penalty for the eight year old. They want to put him on death row in an adult prison. Christ!
