Cossacks. The term itself has become synonymous with "barbarian" in the English language. Yet the Russians still consider it a badge of honor. Guess we need to find better insults.

At last the truth is oozing out. The Ukraine armed forces are hated in Debaltseve. Even if it "appears" that shelling damage was done by rebels. (Sneaky wording that: How does shelling's appearances differ from one side to another side?)

Anyway, this is only a particle of the mess that is Ukraine. Not only has the Kiev regime lost the hearts and minds of East Ukraine but is losing the support of the home front. The draft is highly unpopular. Thousands of young men are either dodging the draft or deserting. Kiev has made antiwar protests illegal.

Who is Ruslan Kotsaba? The MSM is your guide to the universe you probably don't. Ruslan Kotsaba is (or was) a major reporter for Channel 112. He came out against the war in a video. He is now being charged with "high treason" and espionage.

This is the state of the Ukrainian state at present.

But that is not all. There are the neo-Nazi militias, like the Azov Battalion, that are not actually under Kiev's control. The Vox website has raised concerns that they might become a major problem to the Kiev regime, which is still nominally democratic.

May be in your English. I've read about cossacks, it seems that the British had rather different opinion about them, particularly after a group of cossacks visited Britain after the Napoleonic wars.

I presume you run out of sound arguments and have only misinformation and ignorant remarks at your disposal.

Uh uh! I thought so. Hey Peter Leonard, I bet your father, Elmore, is turning over in his grave right now at your wonderful success as a mouth piece for the MIC.

"Cossacks?" That's a new one. Did you come up with that all on your own?

Cossacks, who spearheaded imperial Russia's expansion

Wonderful! You learned a lot from your father, didn't you? Couldn't hack it as a novelist, so now you're just a hack.

"Almost every building was gravely damaged, nearly every window smashed in this Ukrainian town left unrecognizable by months of relentless shelling. Children played in the rubble where their homes once stood, while neighbors boiled water in open fires as temperatures dipped below freezing."

Thanks a lot, Putin and the separatists, thanks a lot.

@Serrano Did you read the whole article, or just the first lines? Read the article once more, locals think that another side is to blame for their ordeal:

The Debaltseve residents who stayed behind directed their anger almost exclusively at the Ukrainian forces

Thank Poroshenko for the destruction and the killing. Definitely he and his henchmen deserve another Nuremberg trial.

In a war, no one's gonna say anything bad against a force that controls the area. It's common sense just stay quiet. Only talk would be ones not saying bad. So take with grain of salt.

Kabukilover: Even if it "appears" that shelling damage was done by rebels. (Sneaky wording that: How does shelling's appearances differ from one side to another side?)

They look at the crater and can determine the direction the shells are coming from. You also have obvious signs like the side of a building and the direction the hit came from. It's not rocket science, but once can make an educated guess. Unless, apparently, that educated guess places blame on the rebels at which point it's obvious a sneaky attempt to do something underhanded.

But that is not all. There are the neo-Nazi militias, like the Azov Battalion, that are not actually under Kiev's control

Ah, yes. It wouldn't be a pro-Russian commentary without a mention of neo-Nazis. Groups like Right Sektor got less than 1% of the vote in the last Ukrainian election, yet is the 2nd most referenced political party in all of Russian media. Combine that with things like Putin agreeing that "genocide" is happening and you can get the idea of what he's created in the minds of the average Russian. The political face of The Ukrain is Right Sektor (<1%), the military wing is Azov (500 men), and they're going into Russian areas and committing genocide (5,000 total deal in nearly a year, including government forces).

My guess is that the average Russia hears Right Sektor, Azov, and genocide multiple times on a daily basis.

W know that all of that region is on the side of eastern forces and also know that while they do not want to see the Ukrainian army hurt they do not want it there because they do not trust the government in Kiev and its foreign backers. As far the big western cry about Debaltsevo it is so stupid, It is an important hub but not for the Kiev, it is only important to the east because it would prevent ground communication of goods and people between two parts of freed territory. So they had it encircled before the deal in Minsk and it was logical they keep it. Kiev sent thousands of troops there to take it over and they got beaten and forced out, case closed. Easterners acted as per need Kiev acted from point of evil to separate the two parts. Rest of the talking about it is waste of time.

Sorry - for me it's very very strange situation. It was promised by western leaders that as a result of Maydan - 2 and putsch Ukraine will be civilised , democratic, european, lawful state .

Now you explaining me that Neo- Nazi not so bad and not so lot of them shooting people in Ukraine.

Surrealistic picture .

Is it eurointegration possible without Neo-Nazi ???
