As a result of Brexit, England is safer. Perhaps tourists should redirecting ther travel plans to London.

Yeeees WC. Especially since the Brexit hasn't actually happened yet. You must be right again, the French are just peeved about Nigel Farage building a wall across the English Channel and making Germany pay for it.

I have a hard time believing tourism is affected at the moment seeing not only all the foreign cars here, oh and a 60 MILE tailback at the Eurotunnel the other day of people trying to leave the UK.

Other than an anti-european agenda you have little or no knowledge of anything. At all. Britain has had it's own terrorist horrors and already has an underground fundie population. The people who are trying to get into GB right now are economic migrants not jihadists. Your comment's reek of ignorance, the notion that the Brexit which is yet to happen being responsible for Britain avoiding attacks utterly up there with the classics.

It's sadly only a matter of time before the UK suffers similar lone wolf atrocities that are happening in France. And the US for that matter.

"Especially since the Brexit hasn't actually happened yet. You must be right again,"

UK tourism operators have already reported a 20 percent surge in business since Brexit. Much is to do with the pounds's value, but also the fact large numbers of people there currently aren't being murdered by Muslim extremists at such places as fireworks festivals to rural churches is another factor.

The Brexit effect is actually happening, and for tourism it's been a confidence booster. The numbers show that.

"you have little or no knowledge of anything"

Your comment is highly, highly ironic.

The biggest British house seller in France to the British conducted their own post Brexit survey recently. Over fifty percent of Brits wanted to leave the UK for France permanently.

Wc meet Jeff. You guys can really discuss issues you know absolutely nothing about.

"Over fifty percent of Brits wanted to leave the UK for France permanently."

Which isn't happening. My posts are about things that happen. Your posts are about things that don't happen but what you would like to see happen, or they're just fantasy like Farage's "wall," in accordance with your worldview or narrative. Big difference.

"You guys can really discuss issues you know absolutely nothing about"

I have used statistics and real-world examples to blow away your arguments in the past. Your assertion above can only be taken as a joke.

JeffLee, Wc626, Good posts.

so there's hard data to support the latter end of this assertion:

Yes.

Market research company GfK in weekly survey finds Brexit and terror top uk tourists' concerns, giving Uk tourist operators a "growth opportunity"

statistics and real-world examples to blow away your arguments (cont'd)...

Why, in the link you kindly shared, do

More than a third (35%) of domestic

(but only)

32% of international travellers anticipate being more concerned about safety and security when travelling in the next 12 months?

I've been more blown away by our kitten sneezing, Jeff.

Then you don't understand stats and their role in highlighting business trends. If a third of your client base shares a certain sentiment, then it's significant, and needs to be responded to. Indeed, the publication lists this trend as a "key concern" (even if you dont.)

My opinions and views reflect critical thinking based on research, evidence and events/trends that actually take place in the real world. Yours, Madverts and others are based on prescribed narratives, judging from your past posts, that you adhere to even in the face of conflicting facts.

Jeff Lee,

Too bad cognitive dissonance chose GfK research to support the claim that Brits were staying home rather than risking going overseas, when it singularly doesn't.

More than a third (35%) of domestic and 32% of international travellers anticipate being more concerned about safety and security when travelling in the next 12 months

People are just as worried about holidaying in the UK as they are about spending their summer fortnight overseas.

Then you don't understand stats and their role in highlighting business trends.

As someone who purchased a range of data sets on a monthly basis from GfK data for years, I'm sufficiently familiar with their core strength: reasonably reliable (and damned expensive) quantitative (rather than qualitative) point-of-sale data.

I also know from painful experience the risks of trying to interpret (making an ass of u and me) quantitative data.
