Marriage is a bond between two people to solve problems that wouldn't exist without being married.

I have no idea why gays want to marry as I have no idea why heterosexuals want to marry either. May be good for the children but not necessarily. I know many heterosexual couples living together for decades raising children and they were never married.

I personally can't and will never be able to understand how people can be attracted by the same sex, but I have no objection against it either. I understand that gays stand up for their rights and achieve that societies accept them the way the want the societies to accept them, which I think is a revolutionary move. Then again I don't understand why they are trying to squeeze themselves into the traditional, archaic cliche of family life, when in my opinion marriage and the whole conception of family and family life should go through some revolutionary renewal and rebirth, even for heterosexuals.

Maybe rather than having a vote on gay marriage she should hold a vote on whether Australians still want her as PM? I think that would be a better vote to have, and lm tipping it would be a landslide result

“Given the personal nature of the issue

So the issue is personal in nature, but she supports the current law which inflicts the will of some people onto other people??

I would say she is a mite conflicted.

My position flows from my strong conviction that the institution of marriage has come to have a particular meaning and standing in our culture

It sure has, when certain people marry willy-nilly only to get divorced over and over again. Other examples include people marry for cash and media exposure (Kim Kardashian - are you listening?).
