Oh, for cryin' out loud, all this fuss over a playful salute to Bush from Rudd. As Rudd said, he was just being friendly. As Ms. Cleo says, a storm in a teacup. ( I like that expression - do I have your permission to use it in the future? )
Taka13+300 - Why don't you just come out and say that you would love to give the finger to our CIC?
You only have to read the last paragraph of the story to see it was a joke. Glad to see an australian prime-minister not toadying to the US. If you can see the joke of the salute, it could even be seen as a slight to Bush, read some sarcasm or irony into it and its quite a good one.
sarge- you didnt really find wottocks comment that offensive did you? Its no secret or surprise to find that Bush is not the epitome of popularity outside of the US. Im sure your next president would not get quite the same animosity.
Sarge - no it doesn't, but thank you for the concern. I think this is an interesting story, showing an Australian pulling the wool over Bush's eyes by simply making a gesture.
Maybe Rudd is a member of Skull And Bones or comes from one of the 13 blood lines of the Illuminati. That would make more sense. It is a known fact that Bush and the Queen Of England are relatives and that Bush´s master is the Queen of England.

ANY salute to Bush is a joke... that goes without saying. Still, it's well known Rudd is not the fan of Bush Howard was. It was certainly a joke.

Smitty,
Depends on how many fingers are involved. ;-)

This is a good example of how the smaller English speaking countries like Australia and Canada still look up to America as their master.

A storm in a teacup. Watch the video, it's nothing.

I would be honoured to give Bush a salute. A pants-down, double-cheeked Saxon salute, with full bugle accompaniment.

Wottock - It must really grind your gears to see Rudd salute Bush for you to post what you have posted on this thread.
