despite these media 'tags' Turnbull has a far better grasp of liberal values than that swaggering dolt Abbot ever did...

Tony Abbot, the George W Bush of Australia, has been forced out of office and replaced by a Rhodes scholar - and people are complaining?

@another expat

Believe it all not, old Tony was also a Rhodes Scholar, there being more than a stench of cronyism regarding that decision as well. Yours truly actually met the young fella years ago when he was a student agitator, and dumb does begin to describe him. Good riddance is all I can say.

Gosh, just because someone happens to be rich, it doesn't mean one is out of touch.

Sounds like one of the the poor guy's parents ditched him and his family when he was 9 years old - but he still turned out rich anyway. Good for him. Maybe he's got a good head on his shoulders?

Seriously, what the heck is wrong with being rich? Is that such a bad thing? If all these socialists would stop getting out of the way of big business and allow the job creators without constantly wanting to punish them for their success, then maybe they could create more jobs, so that people can spend money, generating more revenue and put it back into the economy. If everyone had decent jobs and a stable economy, we could have better wages, better productivity. But that's not going to happen if people keep voting for failure or punishing the people that create jobs.
