It's titanic alright. The Obama presidency hit an iceberg around December of 2009 and has been sinking slowly ever since.

But the president himself remains likeable! His likability keeps him afloat!

Even one term has already proved that it is one term too many. Obama is destroying AmericaI have asked my Representative to vote against Obamacare and I hope California nixes this trillion dollar rape of our people

Oh wow, you guys really hate Obama. So, what did he do exactly? Did he practice his crazy voodoo black magic on you or sacrifice your first born children to his convenient satan-slash-Muhammad two-way altar of evil?

Oh, you mean, all he did was capitulate to the Right, which ended up putting the country even further in the hole? Oh, interesting.

Here's some good reading for you guys. It comes from a man that worked for 30 years for the Republican party. You will probably, of course, denounce it all outright, but hey, it's worth a try: http://www.truth-out.org/goodbye-all-reflections-gop-operative-who-left-cult/1314907779

@Marion,

You don't use Medicare for your mounting medical bills? Should people in their 90s get better care than those of us one- third your age?

Wishing you a speedy recovery from your cancer and heart issues.

Cool! - I guess this means we get Kate Winslet as a running mate!

I don't know. The republicans still haven't fielded a candidate. First it was Trump who looked like a fool, then it was Michele Bachmann until the base found out she's even crazier than they are (and that's saying something), then it was Rick Perry until the base realized he's as dumb as they are (again, that's saying somthing). Now, they're begging Chris Christie to run and the guy can't. He was a lobbyist for Bernie Madoff. He's got too many skeletons.

That leaves the republicans running Bob Dole er, I mean Mitt Romney against Pres. Obama.

Mr. "I'm a member of the middle class, just like you. I just make $200 million more than you) Mitt Romney isn't going to beat Pres. Obama. He flip-flops too much.

HumanTarget - Oh wow, you guys really hate Obama. So, what did he do exactly?

Obama did nothing as a U.S. Senator while the sub-prime ARM market was collapsing. As POTUS, he still ignored the sub-prime ARM issue and ignored the need to create an environment where businesses could create jobs, jobs, jobs. After the taxpaying voters found out exactly what "hope and change" consisted of, they dumped the progressive Democrats in droves.

Axelrod has been brought back to TRY to build some excitement among Obama's FORMER supporters. If the job and housing markets don't turn around by November 2012, Obama is going to be looking for honest work outside of politics.

"the flawed field of Republican candidates"

What about the flawed field of Democratic candidates?

In polls taken recently, over 50% of prospective Republican voters want an alternative to all of their current candidates. Wow.

Don't worry. Heman Cain's 9-9-9 plan will save the day!

(That's a 9% income tax, a 9% sales tax and 9 dollars for two medium pizzas.)

Of course, if you turn Cain's plan upside-down you get....

Yikes!

In polls taken recently, the Democrats are in serious trouble.

Herman Cain would be such an improvement over Barack Obama it's not even funny.

More than any other individual, the nation has George W. Bush to thank for the presidency of Barack Obama. No question about it.

Still, 9 dollars for two medium pizzas is not a bad deal.

yabits - In polls taken recently, over 50% of prospective Republican voters want an alternative to all of their current candidates. Wow.

And Obama's DISapproval rating is 51% with an approval rating of only 41%. Obama is running on his very own record and the voters will hold him responsible in Nov 2012.

Axelrod is right. Obama does face a '"titanic" struggle and the Titanic sunk.

Axelrod is right. Obama does face a '"titanic" struggle and the Titanic sunk.

Yes, Axelrod is right. But it's the GOP that's the Titanic. They're the ones who rammed the ship of state full speed against the iceberg and then tried to blame their opponents for the disaster.

"More than any other individual, the nation has George W. Bush to thank for the presidency of Barack Obama"

Well, since you adore President Barack Obama, yabits, I don't understand why you are always complaining about and blaming George W. Bush for everything.

Well, since you adore President Barack Obama, yabits,

I respect President Obama.

I don't understand why you are always complaining about and blaming George W. Bush for everything.

Yes, it's one of a million simple things you just don't understand. It doesn't matter if you thought George W. Bush was a great president or a lousy one: He is directly responsible for the conditions that led to the election of Barack Obama. No single individual deserves as much of the credit.

Serrano,

Herman Cain? You think Herman Cain would make a good president?

Remember when he went on conservative HQ Fox News and bungled all of his talking points, even with (I believe it was) Sean Hannity giving him a wink and trying to gently put him on track so he didn't make an ass of himself?

"Right of Return... Right of... Return..? Right.... of Return... I think Israel is GRRRR-EAT!"

There's more to being President than just making sure rich people are happy, Serrano. Like, you know, foreign policy, and knowledge of politics.

@arrestpaul,

You really ought to read that link I provided. It pretty much paints a picture clear as day that the Republicans literally want nothing more than to sink the country.

Implementing Cloward-Piven will be a titanic struggle.

"There's more to being president than just making sure rich people are happy"

Can you admit that everyone who pays taxes got a tax cut under the Bush tax cuts? And if the Bush tax cuts were so unfair to the middle class, why did Obama agree to extend them?
