The Thought Police in action.
Europe's finest?
Hard to say.
Maybe we need a JT poll on that one...
My many, many French friends and acquaintances tell me they are ashamed to be from that country.

Viva le liberte... Unless you say something the Muslims don't like.
Heh, so much for free speech in france.

"In a Paris court hearing Tuesday..."
This item is seven news cycles old.
Come on, JT. Lift your game.

The limits of freedom of speech in Eurabia... you can say what you want, unless it offends the Master Religion. In which case, it is "racism". Depressing.

If she is so apparently bothered by Muslim practices such as sheep slaughter, I wonder how she feels about the practice of force feeding goose for fattening their livers. I'm not surprised she's been on trial and under fire so many times. Her husband was an adviser to the Front National, a far right wing political group in France. Birds of a feather flock together apparently.

No need to wonder. She's vociferously against it, of course. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/14/dining/14foie.html?ei=5090&en=7100c5ca317c9b4a&ex=1292216400&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&pagewanted=all
That's funny, animal welfare folk are usually labelled 'bleedin'heart lefties' by those who disagree with them.

Cool, that clarified it then cleo. I've never heard of animal welfare folk being termed bleeding heart lefties. Animal welfare types are in a group, or should I say universe, all their own. Regardless, my point is that her husband associated with a far right group in France that is openly racist. Even bigots and right wingers can be animal lovers too, didn't Hitler own some dogs?

Hitler was a Lefty. Hate to break it to ya. Read and notice: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei.
Not that it matters. Weird notions about animals and nature, not to mention plenty of blind anti-Americanism, consumes both Left and Right in the new Europe.Another confirmation that the whole collection of post-modernist pseudo-states is a failed one.
But to answer your question -
it doesn't matter if Bardot is opposed to force-feeding geese. No unelected Leftist busybody has found a way to construe her views on this as "racist," though they are undoubtedly trying to.
It is depressing to watch Europe shuffle into the twilight like this.

associated with a far right group " does not make one racist.. Would you call the people she is concerned about racist? They are very right wing.
As for anyone inciting hatred, take a closer look on local BBC stations where people are literally calling for the death of others, but being a poor muslim lets you off the hook.

additionally, at least this lady, in her 70's, has the balls to tell it like it is. France is ashamed of many of their brethren being collaborators of the Vichy Government, but at least the collaborators didn't invite the Nazis, this time they did.

Bollocks to bardot and bollocks to the PC crowd.
Talk about a storm in a tea cup.

Madverts -
Can you give those of us outside Europe some idea - like say a projection for the number of Citroens and Peugots that'll be torched - of just how big a provocation the 73-year old Bardot's "anti-Muslim" scribbling will become among certain "immigrant" populations?
Thanx, bro.

Yes, "racist" and "right-wing" are the typical labels used to effectively shut up anyone. Never mind that islam is not "race" and that islamist fanatics with their anti-semitism and desire for an islamic dictatorship are the real rightists... the label gets applied and sticks.

So this is how low the Republique francais has fallen. What ever happened to the right of the people, no matter who they are, to speak their minds without the fear of punishment? There was a time when the french used to believe in that.
Obviously, no longer.

"Bardot has been convicted four times for inciting racial hatred."
How many of the Muslim rioters outside of Paris last year were prosecuted on these same charges?

anyone who is for the freedom of speech, the complete separation of church and state, should sign up and support her.
I still can not fathom why some left leaning group is so supportive of the most right wing minded people on the planet..

skip - or get my head cut off by the upstanding french Muslim "citizens".
What's happening to Ms. Bardot is the result of a nation allowing itself to be overrun by followers of Islam. Speak out and you get arrested.

This isn't even news here. It's another case of the demented PC crowd shrieking about Bardot. And another JT article designed to let the bush sect let off some steam in light of Dear Leader's chronic demise...

The french government should roll out the guillotine and put an end to Ms. Bardot's heresy against the fine upstanding muslim "citizens" the Islamic way.

I find it rather sad and ultimately disturbing to see the under currents of anti Islamic/Muslim sentiments here. What Bardot said and has said on numerous occassions is far more inciteful and hateful than Ishihara saying that the French language is not fit for international use. Yet here people sympathize with and excuse Bardot's bigotry, and at the same time criticize every little harmless thing Ishihara says. The double standards is astounding. Again, it speaks volumes that Bardot's husband has been advisor to Front National, a racist political group. You can call it left wing, right wing, anything you want but the fact is that is a racist political group that Bardot has associations with, as racist a group as any blackened vans you see driving around Japan with loudspeakers on top.
What other Muslims or Islamic fundamentalists have done is irrelevant to what Bardot has said. I hope she gets hammered for her bigotry.

Yet here people sympathize with and excuse Bardot's bigotry" Let me clue you in on something... people don't just wake up one day and decide to dislike someone or some groups of people. In most cases it is do to actions or in-actions of people. There is an anti muslim push going on in the world, just like in the state we are mostly anti-mormon. I am Ms. Bardot in this case with them as she is with Muslims.
Why can't someone point out negatives about a group of people? Why can't a person want to stay with the old ways? The Muslims in their lands do... You reasoning is like calling someone hateful if they hate Nazis (Yes, I will equate any religious group with them until I see differently)..
If you want them in your country, call them out, roll out a red carpet with open arms and leave the hateful people as you call them alone. With all this so called bigotry accusations of European countries, I do not see any dip in amounts of Muslims wanting to enter those countries...
I deplore people who feel they must hide behind some race card to deter their own short comings. I can do it if I wanted to but never did I ever feel the need to do so and I will be the first to criticize my own ilk. Muslims need to start stepping up to the plate take a look at what is being said about them and start some dialog amongst themselves...

also rjd, don't you think trying to shut people up is counter productive? Why doesn't anyone ask what her feelings truly are and then try to find solutions.
Just like I have been told by a few posters that violence only begets violence, shutting people up only makes them want to speak louder... How long does the PC crown feel they can just keep doing this to people, their own citizens at that, before it blows up in a much worse way.
