his Mom raised him using welfare? I could never vote for a taker.

“I see myself as a logical American who has common sense,”

Sorry, but those are two things that the Republican party does not allow: logic and common sense. As the two dozen candidates resort to ripping each other apart and the Democrats sit back, laugh, and collect all the fodder for whatever best of the worst wins from the GOP, it'll be hilarious to watch.

Oh, thank you, Ben - thank you, thank you, thank you!

You'll never win, of course, but you will gum up the works in myriad interesting ways. And, polling ahead of political veterans like Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Marco Rubio, and former Texas governor Rick Perry, you'll definitely make history as the first black man to have a real impact on a GOP presidential primary. In fact, I can almost imagine the inevitable nominee, Jeb, choosing you as his running mate, and so likely can you, which is likely why you're running.

Thanks again. Gosh, this is going to be an interesting race!

Yes, he is running republican and the Democrats insult him here with the claim of republicans are verbally insulting.

What I have seen over the years BOTH parties are equally guilty of slinging mud.

As for Carson, I would love a non politically groomed candidate in the mix. Again, I'll refer to the above to say both parties are guilty of numerous political influenced national blunders. To look at the parties as a division of good and evil is quite shallow.

Dr. Carson is a good man! A rags to riches story. He was raised by a single mother of welfare and she instilled education on both him and his brother. Both became very successful. Go ahead and insult him but be cautious, you may be labeled a racist.

MarkG, none of the above comments could in any way be construed as insulting the good doctor. Rather, they all point to the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of the Republican Party, with whom Dr. Carson chooses to identify and hitch his cart. Also, it is ripe after the last seven years to accuse liberals of race baiting; a Bush-Carson ticket may possibly spell an end to those Republican Christmas cards displaying Obama with fried chicken and watermelon.

He just became a registered Republican a few months ago after years as an Independent so as not to run a campaign that would "split the electorate," which is going to be a bit tricky to explain, but I am open to seeing how this develops. I like some of his positions, although many are not well thought out, -- just not sure his methods can get him elected.

I am happy to read you have respect to Carson. But wait and see, the mud will fly when it needs to against him.

You comment on intelectual and moral bankruptcy is present and thriving in both parties.

As for Bush-Carson.....I hope not. I certainly wouldn't mind Carson as VP though. Winning the nomination, I don't think so.

Hillary needs to come clean with the Clinton Cash scandal. This can sink her ship.

"Carson, who has never run for public office and will be a longshot candidate, is expected to be the only high-profile African-American to enter the Republican presidential primary"

If he somehow wins the Republican nonination, is it possible he could knock off Hillary? Nah...

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

GOP needs a reliable candidate who can win against Hillary, If Carson is elected, he has to be coached ABC of how to run public office. I still think Bush or Paul.

Hillary is in deep with the Clinton foundation mishaps and questionable motives. I think Hillary may bow out if this gets deeper and the mainstream media reports responsibly.

Ben Carson comes of as the dumb person's smart person. That's the impression I get when I hear him speak.

The man was a well accomplished pediatric sergeon in one of the nations top hospitals and ran the department. Pioneered some techniques. Far from dumb. His brother is a Nuclear Physasist as I recall. Mama Carson done well with her children.

Perhaps you refer to him being able to talk to the general population and connect.

And to add the GOP candidate collection now has a woman in the mix. Another long shot though Obama was one also. Anything can happen. The Dems need more potentials all the eggs in Hillary's basket can be fatal.

That sounds like Bill Mahers' introduction as "half brilliant" : Dr. Ben Carson is the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins, youngest major division director in the hospital's history, and the first doctor to separate conjoined twins at the head etc. then goes on to list all the 'teaparty' positions he disagrees on.

Although there is a valid criticism that Carson often talks off the cuff as he is being briefed on foreign and domestic issues which comes off as half baked instead of waiting for a formal platform to offer more substantive policy ideas.

I don't doubt that he is a smart guy. I.. just.. think.. when.. he.. tries.. to.. speak.. very.. slowly....... to.. give.. himself a bit more gravitas, he comes off looking like a bit of a fool to most people but dumb people seem to be very persuaded by the performance, regardless of what he actually say. That's my opinion at least.

I knew it wouldn't take long for the Lefty's here to come after the intelligent and accomplished black man for not thinking the way he is supposed to think (ie. like a big government Prog).

smithinjapan thinks he is not logical and without common sense. Laguna believes that Carson is joining an organization that is morally and intellectually bankrupt - why a world renowned neurosurgeon would do that he doesn't say. M3M3M3 thinks that Carson's only appeal is to dump people and that he needs to alter his speech to make it appear that one of the world's premier surgeons has 'gravitas'.

It's hilarious. I hope Carson goes far into the primaries just to see how the Left responds to him. He drives the Progs crazy.

I think they we can label them racist Wolfpack just as We have been in the past for negaive Obama opinions posted. Double standard? Or convenient insulting labeling? Very typical from the left.

Whatever Clinton's dirty bags, they banish quickly. No one ia ralking e-mail story. Npw Clinton fund story. Bill is explaining that now and already media analyst are saying Bill is not the candidate to hash up. Kind of hard now for GOP. But this doctor has experience of extremely poor life. He is a good talker. He might get GOP Prime. Or not, VP selection by a prime winner.

Wolfpack: "smithinjapan thinks he is not logical and without common sense "

I said the Republican party isn't (and doesn't allow it), but you drew your own conclusion. But thank you for backing up that fact.

I said the Republican party isn't (and doesn't allow it), but you drew your own conclusion.

Well no you were referring to a statement made by Ben Carson. I only drew the conclusion that you made yourself.

What is most interesting now is that Democrat party is hitching their wagon to an old women that made it to where she is today by marrying a talented man who made it possible for her to become a Senator and a cabinet head. Opposing her are a brilliant black neurosurgeon who rose from poverty to be the worlds best in his field, a women who rose from secretary to the top of a Fortune 500 company, a young Hispanic Senator whose parents came to America fleeing Communism, a man from Hope, Arkansas, and several others with different points of view within the Republican party. Democrats only want demographic diversity and reject intellectual diversity.

Democrats only want demographic diversity and reject intellectual diversity. Where else would George W or the Tea Party have found a home?
