While the current administration has been lacking in bold, decisive moves in foreign policy since the killing of OBL, sometimes that is the right choice.

With Russia heavily committed to both Syria and Iran, the current administration has to move adroitly as to avoid embroiling the USA in another fruitless war, this time a proxy war with Russia. Some politicians seem to be quite satisfied with the three trillion dollars and many lives wasted on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Always easy to criticize from your armchair (while praising your own good judgment)

Mostly politics here.

Even his fellow Democrats are Swift Boating him. It will only get worse after July when he gets stiffed by the Iranians.

What's one more than a tri-fecta?

I think Kerry's doing the best he can...

While I think the Obama administration did a lousy job on Syria, they had nothing but lousy options. With Iran, it may not work, but if the U.S. can get the nuclear genie back in the bottle without going to war, I say let's give it a try. The Russians are intractable and that's, not our fault. I don't see NATO members rushing to increase defense spending or reduce reliance on Russian LPG. The North Koreans are "contained" (for now) which is about all we can do short of blowing them up (and losing Seoul) without Chinese buy-in. Speaking of the Chinese, they are on notice. We WILL go to war (and win) in defense of our treaty allies.

As for Israelis and Palestinians,......I don't see why it is Kerry's fault that they don't feel like making a deal (especially Bibi Netanyahu's whacko league). If these people are dead-set on killing each other, how is a 3rd party supposed to get them to stop?

Long story short: it's a screwed up world, bad things happen, and the U.S. can't fix everything. Hell, we don't even get any credit for trying. I don't see any other "Great (or even middling) Power' wading into world peace on an equivalent level.

Thanks, guys! It's very refreshing to see bipartisan support - if not for Kerry per se, but for the Obama administration's policy of primum non nocere ("First, do no harm"). There comes a time when you have to let idiots knock themselves out before they realize that coming to the table is really their only viable option.

Sour grapes and politics, nothing more.

Oh good grief, what do these people want Kerry to do about all these huge messes around the world?

" but for the Obama administration's policy of primum non nocere ("First, do no harm")."

You've GOT to be kidding!
