A famous burmese film star Kyaw Thu gave interview to BBC Burmese on Saturday, how he had to run to escape from gov.affiliated thugs, who tried to rough up his group, to stop him from distributing rice to the starving poors in Hlaing Tharyar,(a satellite town distroyed by the cyclone just outside Yangon). This shows even local people can face intimidation for helping the needy if the gov.disagree.
Hmmm sunk on its own? I wonder...
Rather then have troops in iraq they should be sent hear to get rid of the military there... its disgusting what they are doing. These people are pigs! Human life is at cost here! Put your pride aside!
I hate to say this but the junta had better let the US and others help. With western China having just had a massive earthquake with thousands dead all ready, they may find that China will be occupied with thier own relief efforts.

I hope that they wise up in time to let help in.
Its obvious from the comments that you people read corporate press propaganda and righteously react with moral indignation!
Nixon and Kissenger, remember those war criminals? The illegally bombed Cambodia unto the stone age. America was not at war with Cambodia when American bombers dropped bombs upon that country that surpassed all the bombs dropped upon Germany and Japan in the 2nd world war. Pol Pot did not just appear out of the blue. AMERICA GO HOME, YANKEE CARPET BAGGERS LEAVE!
I would like to take this tragic event in China as an opportunity to "REQUEST SERIOUSLY" to Chinese government, that instead of trying to score politically with the West at the UN Security Council, please have some "EMPATHY" and allow the UN to AID-DROP aid into the dying millions in Burma's flooded delta. This is not the time to score political points. This is time to save lives, millions of innocent lives. Are Burmese lives not as precious as Chinese quake victims?

What makes these Myanmar victims deserve to be neglected as such cruelty?
Even 'animals' in some countries would be helped better by the governments there.

People are dying. Do you really think they care where the aid they so desperately need comes from?
Do you really want them to die just so you can score political points?
