RIP

He was probably right to leave Bonanza. It is easy to get type-cast, especially when you are under the shadow of Lorne Greene and Michael Landon.

I watch YouTube clips of the series and can't for the life of me figure out what made it so appealing. The women all all so prissy in their bonnets. The sexiest character in the series was probably Hop Sing (Victor Sen Yung), the Chinese handyman, who wore a pigtail down to his waist.

He did it HIS way. R.I.P.

the brilliant Korean War comedy-drama “M-A-S-H,” in which Wayne Rogers had played the offbeat Dr. “Trapper” John McIntire opposite Alan Alda’s Dr. Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce.

Wrong. The roles were played by Elliot Gould and Donald Sutherland, respectively.

Yes in the original movie. From which the MAS*H TV show was spun starring Alan Alda and Wayne Rogers.

I agree. Also Hop Sing was the epitomy of Hollywood (and America's) view of Asian males in American society.
