A guy named Matthew Simmons, who was energy adviser to GW Bush, figures if they can't stop it this could go on for 24 years before it runs out naturally.

took a month to do this...all BP BS. their main concern has been saving the site for drilling, not plugging it up.

Frightening thing is, it may take more than a month too as GJD pointed out. Plus the after effects could speed up some even worse issues with both marine life, and water toxicity. I'm thinking this may reach billions of USD in damages.
