Ummm... you don't REQUEST to talk to them, you DO it! If BP refuses, you arrest those in charge.

I think you should read the above again, it might say that “BP won’t let members talk to several employees” but then it goes on to say that “BP “has not objected to providing access to any of the specific BP employees that the committee has requested, and we continue to cooperate with the committee.”
Now if you are an American you can only believe that BP is lying, if your not American you might ask what the hell Bart Stupak is talking about and why. As for Vidrine, it really does sound as though he is making his own moves. I get the impression that somebody is stirring up trouble here and as yet we don’t know why, this is not all there is to this. I would wait before you make a judgement on this. By the way, normally we are told both what party and what state a representative comes from, in this case not. Where does Stupak represent?

BP U.S. are clearly trying to hide evidence that may be used against them. The UK parent company should order the U.S. managers to cooperate with this enquiry.

Congress can first request people to appear. If they refuse, then Congress could subpoena them. Then they're required to appear.

This is very depressing. BP has a real problem with creditability and then they want to limit access to the ones who really know what happened out there. < :-)
