Why can't nerve signals to the spinal cord be jumped over the damaged section of cord to the other side to pass electrical signals? Much like induction power, why can't nerve impulses be induced into the cord beyond the damaged section? One side of the cord could be wrapped in a transducer connected to the other end via wires or wireless connection. Any answers from all the neurosurgeons and neurologists out there?
