Yahoo News has a photo of Geisy Arruda in her short pink dress.

Quote from article: University lawyer Decio Lencioni told Globo TV that the institution was only following its rules. “The problem is not her clothes; it’s her behavior, her attitude,” he said.

Checked it out Sarge, but the shortish one piece itself = no problems at all! Attitude, yes, perhaps I can understand that.

One of my exchange students turned up to college class wearing a short Japanese maid outfit with frilly petticoats, the lot. She sat right in the front row with her legs crossed. I wasn't sure where to look. The other students shrank away from her. This Brazilian story looks to be nothing in comparison!

...but I bet she made sure her make-up looked good before she allowed the press to shoot her. A publicity stunt? Will this make her career?

I always dressed in a way that makes me feel good and that doesn’t offend anybody.

Well, she should do what makes her feel good on her own time. The female body can be a major distraction to random males wanting to study, or teach a class. Outside of study time, if she is going to keep the whole campus sexually satisfied, its her right and I will slap people who condemn her for that myself. But arousing people when they don't want it and then not doing anything about it is not cool at all.

And it looks like someone was offended dear.

Meh. I did a search for the photos expecting something shocking and... its a short dress. That's about it. Certainly not worth an expulsion.

I was demonstrating a color copier to a bunch of saleswomen once. They all had those dresses on. I squatted down to show how the paper path was acessed and dang if they all didn't too. I stammered through my comments but must have turned beet red because they all started laughing. Talk about being put on the spot. At least none of them complained that I had noticed.

I'm not sure I would expel the woman but it can be a distraction. With rights come responsibilities. Even in terms of the clothes you wear - or don't.
