4 weeks after giving birth really is too early to fly, the mother must've been worn out. A terrible loss.

She was probably jammed in economy, and most like fat and with a new born, over sized breasts. I can see her kid getting smothered that way. Poor mom and kid. RIP

How tragic!
Anyway, surprised she was not arrested for exposing her breasts on an American jet. Do Americans still permit public breastfeeding? I can just hear some zealot now..."This would never have happened if the ban on public breast-feeding had been enforced!"
Also, you got to marvel at how she managed to get those containers of milk aboard. I fly, and I am restricted to tiny bottles of shampoo and water! Could explain why she was breast-feeding though. If she put the mother's milk in bottles she would have troubles.

I feel so sorry for this woman. I hope she can forgive herself someday. It will be difficult to live with this.

"The American Academy of Pediatrics has warned that sharing a bed or sleeping with an infant can be hazardous under certain conditions."
What the heck does sharing a bed have to do with flying?

Speechless.
Easier for her than for her dead baby.
