Iran currently has 18 diplomats in Britain.
What does this mean? You need 18 diplomats to do what? Or does this mean 1 diplomat, staff and family who are under the diplomatic umbrella? Just wondering.

Next Colin Powell should make a powerpoint presentation at the UN about the various suspected WMD sites throughout Iran.

Iran has many many domestic problems! Their evil crappy regime in Teheran just attacked the British Embassy as a premeditated distraction! Just smoke and mirrors! To distract their people and CNN from their in fighting, from what really scares them the most! Democracy! Free and fair elections for the good people of IRAN!!

Whenever Iran has domestic trouble, they use either Great Satan Number One (the US) or Great Satan Number Two (Great Britain) to draw attention away. It's a pity really. The country was flourishing under the Shah- becoming a modern state with education and economic prosperity. Now, after 30 years of rule by the bearded idiot followers of Khomeni, we have Iran today. A country with massive reserves of oil that still needs to IMPORT gasoline.

Okinawamike: it takes 17 Iranian diplomats to run an embassy: 1 to talk to the people and the remaining 16 to ___ (fill in the blank)
From the article, I would say that this British-Iranian feud has been going on for years, which includes oil (Wow! Who'd ever think money is the root of all this mess? sarcasm) and that both sides have been trying to dominate each other. Personally, I think that Iranians wouldn't let this one go easily, and the British likewise won't let the oil slip away from their fingers.
I wonder how long the two sides are going to play this deadly game of tug-of-war.
@Elbuda Mexicano, yes, Iran has many many domestic problems, but which country doesn't? How can you say what is good and not for a country if you're not in it, and don't know anything about their problems? Can democracy solve their poverty? Can democracy solve their oil problems? Can democracy feed their people? Before you say "yes", think of the "how" and if it is relavant to the situation at hand.

It is good to alienate them, but the do have the right to pursue any nuclear program they want. The US does as well as other countries.
Iran has some very beautiful women when they get dressed up.

Good. Time for the international community to call Iran's bluff. A line in the sand must be drawn.

I'll bet all the Iranian diplomats will return to Iran in First Class.

Might be a sign of things to come with the UK getting its diplomates out of the country. Especially after the report that another of Iran's nuclear facilities blew up in the past days. Starting to look like someone is targetting Iran's nuclear facilities and personal. So might be a good time for the UK diplomates to get out while the gettings good you never know how the nuff nuffs will react to this.

No idea about all Iranian/Persians flying back on FIRST CLASS or not, but I would not be surprised if some of these people become dissidents and say something like "Yeah, sure, I will see you all at Heathrow" and then the rest say, ok, so where is Hussein?? Where is Reza?? Anybody seen Fatima?? Happens ALL THE TIME!

The Iranian Foreign Ministry's apology was a day late and a dollar short. And so, their diplomats got their butts kicked out.
Ironically, this stems from the internal Iranian squabble between Supreme Leader Khamenei and President Ahmadinejad. Compared to Khamenei who wants to make a hard stand against the West, Ahmadinejad is like the reasonable one who's willing to talk with the West. Who da thunk?

Why should he bother? The UN's own nuclear watchdog has already reported its damning findings on Iran. Where have you been?

The rest of the world should kick out ALL Iranian diplomats from their country, period...oh, and also North Korean spie...er, diplomats. No need to do anything for Syrian diplomat for the time being for reasons of soon-to-happen overthrow of their government.
