Global recession or was it due to heavy surcharge?? Anyway, whatever the problems just sort them out...passangers have an option...Non-BA flights will be flying on schedule (i guess).

Selfish act? Now the cabin crew will have to endure the Christmas holidays at home with their families - what could be worse?

The timing is hugely suspect, and will win no sympathy from passengers affected. Everyone hates to have working conditions changed, but it really does seem that cabin staff on BA (maybe "some" cabin staff is more accurate?) are overpaid. Is 60k GBP really a fair wage for a cabin services director? Sounds like a lot, and whereas I'm sure that the quality is high, it just seems out of whack with the rest of the industry.

BA may follow JAL quite soon?

Many of these customers will never forget and will never come back. Bad idea BA staff. Accept the company is struggling and some changes need to be made.

The threat of this strike has been looming for months and was one reason I booked ANA instead of BA for our Christmas trip home. It looks like BA is going the same way as JAL, sinking under an unaffordable pension burden.

Wow! Just in time for that Christmas spirit! A good old fashioned strike by British Airways?? Bah! Humbug and all that Scrooge type of thing.

They should team up with JAL

they will gain no sympathy nor respect from me and if someone with guts should stand up to the unions, I hope they tell them Merry Christmas as they fire them as they know damn well how much this could hurt their gravy train.
