Strewth, these bleeding families of lowlifes dragging Britains name through the mud.

There are too many of these kids. In the old days it wern'T tolerated, the boy would go to reform school for some good old fashioned discipline.

The little git can make a child , but is too thick to know what financially means, says it all about these bloody people, future dole scroungers i bet!!!

“Some may say it’s too late but he needs to understand so there is not another baby.”

He impregnated her, he didn’t marry her. Are these people really going to allow them to play happy families & sleep together again?

The news coming out of Britain these last few years is becoming more & more bizarre. They have insane laws that are designed to stop everyone from doing anything yet they do everything & do so in the strangest ways. What a very odd country.

grafton: Maybe Britain are weirf, but the story says it are worse in America. Britain is going down the toilet because of 11 years of red hand Labour rubbish policies. Kids like this will become the norm. I can't believe how all our morals and traditions is wiped away in a decade!!

”Britain had 27 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19 between 2000 and 2005, according to a report published by Population Action International.”

Do you get the impression that there isn’t much worth watching on British TV & the children need to find something else to do with their time?

Maybe they should bring a few of the old classics like “Some mothers do have them” & “Till death do us part”. Sorry I can’t remember any other good ones. Maybe you do?

Asked what he would do to support the child financially

I suppose he could get a paper route.

grafton: If they brung them up to stay kids and play football with their mates instead of doing these things, it wouldn't happen.

Old comedies would do them good like, and drams about social issues. These kids only think about me, me,me, not about their duty to their families and society.

Bring back corporal punishment for the bleeders, haha, taht would learn them. Also decent tv like Carry On Films and wrestling.

You got me by one minute. Strange as you might find this coming from me of all people. I agree with you. I lived there, but wouldn’t dream of doing so again & sorry if that offends but I think that you know what I mean. I almost agree with you about these children going to some kind of reform school, & the parents need to find themselves in court too for child neglect.

Helter Skelter: I reckon you mean a paper round, but that little sod probably wouldn't get up early to do graft would he eh!

I paid over 40 years of taxes and end up supporting kids having kids.

The bleeding country has gone mad!! They is even closing all the bingo halls now, so old people can'T get entertained, but these kids get video games, holidays for being naughty, wahtever they like. The place has gone mad!!!

    Alf,

You’re a hard man, corporal punishment AND a child to bring up, isn’t that a double punishment?

Though yes, something needs doing, because if it is left as just another stupid story in the papers than it will not be the last by a long way. If money is paid for the story what do you bet there will be many more playing the same game. A bit like girls getting pregnant so they can get a flat. So, stand by for the new game in town, children having children.

They'll probably put him on a sex offender list and get a restraining order against him being around children including his own.

The girl was taking birth control pills but missed one

Which is why the male has to be taught to use condoms, NO MATTER WHAT. That is the true problem here. I doubt he was taught to do that. Heck, even most adults think birth control pills are plenty safety net.

    He’s 13. He scarcely looks 10.

    Somehow, I doubt that.

Asked what he would do to support the child financially, Alfie asks in a small, high-pitched voice, “What’s financially?”

He could not get a job even if he had the skills, so the word "financially" naturally has not made it to his vocabulary.

Nope. Saw him on the tellie. He looks 10. So much in fact, I have to ask if a paternity test was conducted.

It's bad enough that he is a father at 13. How does the intense, inane media focus help?

    What a godawful mess.

The boy (who if the photos in the Sun are anything to go by, looks barely 10) lives with his mother who is separated from his father who has sired 9 kids (and the wording seems to suggest that his wife isn't the mother of all 9).

The girl lives with her parents and 5 siblings in a council house, the father isn't working and the family is on benefits. The boy often stays over and leaves his school uniform there so he can go straight to school in the morning (makes the claim of 'only one night' a bit dubious).

I'm sure there must be some law on the books that allows for the parents to be charged with gross negligence, failure to give due care and protection, something. At the very least they need a damn good shaking.

Then again, the papers are claiming that little Alfie hasn't reached puberty yet, which surely by definition means he cannot be the father. I think a paternity test is in order. There's something very, very fishy about the whole setup.

According the comman law originated from Britain, having sex with minor is a crime and deserve the punishment. For that boy he broke the law when he was twelve. The law will excempt him because of age. However there are many prematured boys will take the advantage of unfairness of law. There will be unwanted social consequences. If there are more boys follow his way, this reporter will be guilty about telling the truth. Too much transparency is not good for immatured and uncaring boys.

I don't know about any of you out there, but seeing that photo of him and that girl playing PS3 while holding the kid is pretty disturbing. I know, you're going to say I'm old fashioned, but yo come on something has gotta give.

People laughed when Palin talked about abstinence, well, perhaps that would have been good in this situation.

Sure, males need to be taught to use condoms. But the true problem here is a 12 year old boy having sex with a 14 year old girl. Not a good idea.

Neutering for all chav's and their offspring at birth is the only answer.

    "tough punishments"

And create another generation of sadomasochists?

Heh, no thanks. But I always like to see Americans pretending they know something about Britain from having seen a few old TV re-runs.

Madverts: Then you obviously never been to Wapping. Used to be a community with respect, now full of feral kids who s parents let them sleep at each others houses and do adult things.

Them parents should get the birch and the kids sent to reform schools. What future has the kid got? Unless it are taking into care by social services. Also i bet they spend a life on the dole, and the more kids you have the more dosh you get, and housing bemefit!!!

" What future has the kid got?"

See my first point: neutering at birth.

We're into a third generation of people who have naver done a days graft in their lives.

    And they're allowed to breed?

'Asked what he would do to support the child financially, Alfie asks in a small, high-pitched voice, “What’s financially?”'

    Priceless.

But then, you can find 30-somethings in the UK's modern day Welfare State who'd give that response, in the same whiny, high-pitched voice.

"in the same whiny, high-pitched voice."

    Ahh, they've begun the neutering?

Getting STDs and having kids is not a good idea. Consentual sex with adequate protection against those consequences is HARMLESS. Most males have doing solo sex since about that age. I scarcely think having a partner while using protection is going to make a difference except perhaps in the positive.

Yeah. I think the mother here set the boy up to take the fall for somebody else.

And note that she knew what "financially" meant. Girls mature faster than boys. And they tend to be more clever about these things too.

Why didn't he use a condom? Think back boys to when you were 12 years old. Could you really imagine bowling into Boots and saying give us a packet of those.....no, no, not those ones, the ribbed ones. Apart from the fact he would not have had two pennies too his name.

Second thing.....Come on.....it was in Eastbourne. What else is there for young people to do in God's waiting room.

Thirdly and finally for now...Have to agree with an earlier poster about generational transfer of welfare dependency. Case happened here recently whee a 17 year old boy was shot accidentaly by the police. As the media focused on the drama turns out the 17 year old boy was soon to become the father of twins. His 16 year old partner already had a 2 year old. And his mother was two weeks away from giving birth to her tenth child!

Maybe it's just me being cynical but I don't see young Alfie and Chantelle ever going much further than the local welfare office.

What's it all about Alfie? I guess you'll never know.

this could be the start of a great record breaking dynasty,if they train their daughter to become a parent early enough and maintain the effort over forthcoming decades, then by the time this boy is 78 he could be the head of a family with 6 living generations..now that would be something to boast about.

Madverts at 06:00 PM JST - 14th February "in the same whiny, high-pitched voice." “Ahh, they've begun the neutering?”

Now that was priceless, today you get the gold stars for wit & wisdom.

“Put simply, you are still a child when you are 14 and, in a civilized society”

I think large parts of the U.K. have lost any claim to being civilised societies a long tome ago. These two children belong to a sub-culture (though there is no culture to it) that is taking over the U.K. where working for a living is nearly unknown. Children become the means by which they can live on state support for their entire lives while producing more (many more) of their own kind. And with current British governments way of doing things I expect yet another new law to be passed soon that will make what I have just written illegal. A classism law to protect the feelings of the under-class.

That boy is just one of the signs showing where Britain is going.

I hear in Britain you are not really grown up until about 30 ish when you can get into politics and pass laws to make sure you can keep the standard of living on welfare for your adolescent children and their children.

When I was a twelve year old boy, I only dreamed of having sex with teenage girls my age or older. Too bad he or she didn't use birth control so that they continue without having coitus interuptus due to the pregnancy. She sounds like a right little tart.
