Maybe another reason why some U.K. residents seem to visit Thailand in good numbers.

Or San Francisco where they just had legalizing prostitution it on the ballot.

    It lost though.

That said, I would love to see the guys who solicit prostitutes pay for it for a change. Its always the girls who are arrested, never the guys.

Molenir: Yeah, I was just pointing out the different mentality on the subject. That said, I am 100% against trafficing in persons. This is one of the most serious international issues of the day.

This is one of the most serious international issues of the day." And yet is so played down. Right here in Japan, no one ever asks how did those girls get here, instead they talk of them as crimminals. Was watching a show not too long ago where police and immigration officials were conducting visa checks and stopped in one place that had a few South East Asian women and perhaps an Eastern European and when the police were going at the girls, my wife's family members were some how cheering it as though they were cracking down on crime and I asked "what about the owner of this bar?" They all looked at me like I head two heads or something.

If this doesn't get any better, they should start arresting the customers.

Well strap on the plastic! Talk is cheap. Let's see some action on this issue both in Europe and here in Japan. While your at it, stop gas-bagging and do something about child pornography and animal cruelty.

While working on government contracts in Iraq, we had manditory TIPs (Trafficing in Persons) training every month, We did man camp inspections to be sure everyone was there voluntarily. If you were caught soliciting or procuring a prostitute in route to and from Iraq, you were subject to immediate termination of employment. Some countries do take this very seriously.

The prostitution and the rest of the slave-trade in the UK (as elsewhere) is entirely kosher based on what there is available to peruse.

Thus, any attempt to curb the sex-trade will be window-dressing by necessity as the organisers are incumbant in the most senior and influential positions in UK politics.
