Why keep wasting the lives of soldiers and journalists on a war that will never end. Didn't the USA learn it's lesson from Vietnam? Didn't they see that the Russians could not tame Afganistan because your not fighting an army with a working central government. Who are you going to negotiate with, some provincial leaders that have a stone age mentality and live in a arid sandbox environment where guns mean more than money and their camel or horse are more valuable than their women.

Two more families devastated by death in Afghanistan.

Too many people have died. This is/has been a war of waste. Waste of lives. Waste of money. And waste of a nation.

I hope that the people of Afghanistan and Iraq can ever revive from the destruction we've helped or caused.

Find a way to end the war. To hell with winners at this point. george bush took care of that when he allowed Ossama bin Laden to get away. After that winning was a fleeting thought because the one who caused it all had escaped. The one villain that took aim at the US and paid to train and attack us got away. george bush never avenged Ossama bin Laden for us, he played with lies and used it all to attack Iraq.

    End these wars. < :-)

[Why keep wasting the lives of soldiers and journalists on a war that will never end.] --- To deny a base for AQ and the Taliban to let their buddies train to kill westerners. It's kinda like the problems in Mexico these days. If you let it go eventually you'll have no control. So there are men and women who volunteer for jobs that put them in harms way to do a little part if they can. And they know the risks as well but still volunteer so that people like you can wonder away like you do. And that's why they deserve our respect. We can't go on blaming the government or towing the liberal know nothing line of "our foreign policy" or "blood for oil" cliches but rather support our troops who volunteer to do a tough job of denying world wide terrorists their training ground. Keep them on the run. Respect to people doing that.

Claps hands It is sad that America looses people due to the continuing conflict. They both died doing something they believed in. A am of mixed feeling about the continuing war. There is hope someday it will end. Remember the conflict in Northern Ireland lasted for 500 years with no sign of ending then it was over. All of those explosions by the IRA in England and Northern Ireland. Now there is a peace of sorts, perhaps this will happen in the future. While not being able to force them into a peace the Americans are keeping things from getting out of hand. I pray for the Marine and reporter as well as for their families and friend. Whatever else happens we must remember it is about people.
