Sorry for those souls that were conceived but never saw the light of day.

If these people they are talking about have the mentality of a ten year old, I suppose that's true. I don't know about the rest of you, but I resent very much having people try to treat me as a child.
I doubt very much that souls are created at conception. So a sperm and egg got together and divided a couple times. You kill more cells having a beer. Or is every sperm sacred too?

Govt is trying to help women or contraceptive makers? It's called business (in capitalists countries).

Yeah - and soon we should feel sorry for all the sperm (some hundreds of millions per shot) and for every cycle's egg.

So let me guess, all kinds of people will be so drunk on New Years, not even sure they are having sex with, but just in case, here take this honey, what is it babe?? Oh that funny pill made by the French, that morning after thingamajig. OK, OK, but since I have a horrible hangover, can you also pass me a few aspirins?? My guess people out in the UK not to scared about STDs?? AIDS??

The morning after pill has been around for years and girls can get it from their doctors to take as acne proscription. The health clinics also hand out free condoms when you go and visit… nothing new here.....

So for those that don't consider life to begin at conception, can you explain exactly when it does begin? At what moment does the person have value to you? Is a born baby more valuable than one in the womb?
For me it's simple, the moment a sperm and egg meet and conceive a new unique individual is born, and we should flush that person down the toilet without even an afterthought their existence.

This is weird. Is BPAS a British government agency?

Maybe the people at Life think anyone who orders an emergency morning-after pill 'just in case' they accidentally make an unwanted baby while in a drunken stupor does have the mentality of a 10-year-old. Or the mentality of a cat in heat. I'd be inclined to agree with them.
If you can't trust yourself to handle the contraception while drunk over the holidays, better to wear a pair of steel knickers. Or if you're not safe out alone, just stay home.

This is disgusting and repulsis me. I work in a small English town called Luxton and have done for the last forty five years as a bus inspector. We used to have civility and respect in Britian when i started the job, but now it is terrible.
I have gone onto the top deck to inspect tickets in the last year and come across people indulging in physical contact that should only happen in private places, once in full intercourse.
In my opinion, this pill will encourage the depraved to act without morals. I am gald i am retiring soon and moving to Spain with my sister. Britain is becoming something i cannot recognise.,

Experts in the UK have shown that this is worse in Liverpool. For some reason the pople there ate more prone to drunken sex than the rest of the UK. Thanfully i now live in West Japan and away from all that.

They should have given this to the woman I saw on YouTube "My Tram Experience". Give her a few of these pills.

This pill does not KILL anything, except the chance of conception; by slowing ovulation till after the sperm dies...
I'd rather see an unwanted pregnancy avoided, than the need for an abortion.

lol!! @MaboDofuIsSpicy ^^
this is good, fantastic news! Unintended pregnancies can screw up your life, kids are expensive, stressful. have kids when you and your partner both agree on it ^o^ and "those souls" are in a way better place (where ever they come from) then here on earth.

oh...this is similar to "Plan B" pill ^^

Actually I wish they handed these out in the streets of my beloved Mexico. So sad to see homeless but seeing a 2?3? Year old begging out on the streets at 1 am!! Really pisses me off! I feel so sad for these poor kids so maybe the UK is not classy nor civil but avoiding the misery of unwanted children begging on the streets then growing up to be criminals etc...who is the biggest criminal?? Those children or us adults that do nothing to prevent these horrors??

How about just not having unprotected sex or a bit of self control?

The whole idea seems tacky to me and deragatory of Christianity. I mean a morning after pill and Christmas just should not go together, maybe New Year
s but not Christmas. Christmas is a holy day and should be respected as such. Theres a lot of muslims in England. I wonder how muslims would feel if the goverment said "lets pass out condoms for Ramadan". Its just kind of insulting I think.0
pamelot
That's the best option of all!
But people being imperfect, other options are necessary.

This is not a UK government agency, it is a charity organisation. Please dont make sweeping statements about the morality of the people of the UK based on an article about a charitable organisation who most people probably have not heard of.

I see only benefits to this project. As Pamelot mentioned, this pill doesn't kill anything so I would hope that even fervent anti-abortion proponents would get behind such a positive undertaking. Unplanned doesn't mean unprotected, alcohol consumption comes hand-in-hand with more dangers of a condom mishap.

inspector blake....well put, well said. Handing out the free pill leads to immorqal and unnaceptable behaviour in the population. I quit the UK years ago for the very same reasons. Good luck in Spain.

Because supplies are better than surprise?

No you didn't. When people moan about morals and the like for leaving, it's just unadulterated B.S. People leave cuz they had a better opportunity through love or luck. I did through luck.No more,no less.

Yeah but no but... the Vicky Pollards of this world (and sorry to say it but that character is very realistic...) should be given the damn pill, lest we end up with even more of them. The stuff you see in places like Liverpool, Newcastle, Bradford on any weekend, is rivalled only by a college area in freshers' week.

Uh, if they need a free "morning after pill" does that come with a free HIV test 30 days later?
