I wonder what Allah, if he exists, thinks of this. Does he delight in the hacking deaths of those who believe other than the hackers? Does he feel justice has been served, that his fragile honor has been restored through the service of some petty thug? Does he feel confident that his (yes, his, that is certain) creation will come to some sort of betterment as a result of this murder? Does Allah understand psychology? Does he understand pathology? Does he understand sick minds? Sick social phenomena? Does he do anything about them? Or has he no control over them?
RIP to another man who has fallen victim to this madness.

At this point, conjecture is all we have to go by.
Nevertheless, it is safe to say that extremists are a scourge of mankind.

Question: What kind of sick monkey would hack an elderly Buddhist monk to death?
nandakandamanda
Plain murderers, hiding behind a cause.

Serrano:
A fundamentalist believer. This happens routinely in the Southern Thai states of Naravat and Pattani too. It is question of time until there are no Buddhists and Hindus left in Bangladesh and Pakistan.

It is extremely sad to hear this. Only hope that the government in Bangladesh would take up to punish the perpetrator immediately. It is a pity that religious tolerance is waning in many parts of the world particularly in Muslim majority nations.
