And our president-elect isn't up to the task.

    Now that's no class.

  • yabits at 10:24 AM JST - 9th November

Shame the war on terror is in peril now we have a weak willed new boy at the helm.

Way to show your lack of class and lack of dignity towards the new president.

Wow, fireside radio chats -really brings back memories.

And hopefully Michelle Obama will finally feel "American"

  • SushiSake3 at 12:30 PM JST - 9th November

Heh, another anti-American post by Sarge, a guy who has called it wrong so many times most of us have lost count.

Bush clearly wasn't up to the task. How else do you explain his utterly dismal poll ratings, Afghanistan spinning out of control and the Iraq Govt. thumbing its nose at the US govt. sponsored pact.

Oh, and the trillions wasted in the war.

All up, Bush and the Neocons couldn't have done much worse.

    SushiSake3 ( tee hee! ) - "Heh, another anti-American post by Sarge"

    Whatever you say, Sushi.

"Bush clearly wasn't up to the task"

Yes, how else do you explain zero attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11, a free Iraq, and in spite of the 9/11 attacks, a vibrant economy for most of the Bush administration...

sarge: "Yes, how else do you explain zero attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11, a free Iraq, and in spite of the 9/11 attacks..."

Under whose administration did said attacks occur again? checking.... oh wait! It was bush!! Sorry bud, but you can keep the 'how else do you explain zero attacks...' coming in every comment, my friend, but so long as it continues to be followed by the factual 'since 9/11', you fully admit that the worst terrorist attacks in US history happened on GWB's watch. It's a shame he made no efforts to prevent them, despite being warned.

"And our president-elect isn't up to the task."

He may not be up to the task of WAGING wars, especially needless and costly (and illegal!) ones, like bush, but he's certainly far more capable to stop them and bring about peace. It's a shame you want war so badly, my friend (especially when you won't get up and help out), but I think you'll find peace is far preferable.

At any rate, I agree that bush's words were decent, but it's very easy to make a speech like he did on your way out the door. If he could have been this politik during his entire reign, the world might not be in such a mess and the US might actually be respected. Fortunately, Obama will give that back to the people, while bush will rightfully go into the annals as the worst US president of all time.

“While we must recognize that we only have one president at a time and that President Bush is the leader of our government, I want to ensure that we hit the ground running on Jan 20 because we don’t have a moment to lose,”

Another way of saying "We have to wait until this idiot goes away, then we can start fixing his mess."

  • USAFdude at 03:17 PM JST - 9th November

    smith -

(especially when you won't get up and help out)

Most accurate statement I've ever read on JT!

  • jambon at 09:41 PM JST - 9th November

Under whose administration did said attacks occur again?

President Clinton wins with the most attacks REPEATED during his administration.

jambon: "President Clinton wins with the most attacks REPEATED during his administration."

You didn't answer my question. Under whose administration did the 9/11 attacks happen?

    Moderator: Back on topic please.

I think that transitions of power in the United States, especially when it involves a change in political parties, have always been and will be again this time very gratifying to witness. I oppose Obama very strongly, but would never consider doing anything to question his legitimacy as our nations leader. To do otherwise, would be damaging to us all.

  • Good_Jorb at 03:13 AM JST - 10th November

And our president-elect isn't up to the task.

If Obama has any problems I'm sure he could always ask Socialist President Bush about how to manage the banks and insurance companies Bush nationalized or perhaps how to nationalize more of the market place. Bush would probable be more then willing to help.

If you're being sincere in this statement, you have my respect.

The nation's economy in tatters, the war on terror a disaster, the worst President in history leaving office with a 20% approval rating and an impressive "legacy" and what are the blind faithful shrieking about?

    Bill Clinton.

    Isn't that a bit old hat fella's?
