Bush stays out of sight until after election

Kinda like he's been for his whole presidency.

    frontandcentre

he's probably choosing pop-up picture books for his presidential library, as we speak

mccain is ashamed of bush, as all americans are now. Those that voted for him must really be hiding now in shame.

frontandcenter, regarding the bush libary, the only secion with books in it will be filed under F for failure.

could be. what do ya wanna bet they feature all the nice little foreign poodles he got to know and lead around?

Imperium - I suspect "Mandarin for Kids" might be more appropriate, given the trillions he has wasted and the terminal decline of America's standing in the world which has been brought about during his presidency.

When people look back in the future, they will regard Clinton's presidency as the high water mark of America's power and Bush's as the point where shortsighted policies, petty vendettas and bending over to Saudi Arabia's wishes accelerated the process of decline into a marginal, second-rate power.

If it were "know and lead around" it wouldn't have been so bad. The problem was that it was "know and push around". What kind of man pushes around a poodle?

Imperium: "what do ya wanna bet they feature all the nice little foreign poodles he got to know and lead around?"

I bet it's either as frontandcentre suggested, or perhaps various versions of My Pet Goat -- the book he couldn't stop reading while the worst terrorist attack in US history took place and the world collapsed around him. Hell, maybe it was signed by Bin Laden's family for all Bush's favours.

wild. bush hasn't even left office yet. stays out of sight for a few weeks and the America-obsessed goes nuts . i reckon they are going to miss him more than anyone in America will.

who are people like the ones on this thread going to blame when bush is gone, the press is dutifully reporting that obama is working his magic, but in canada and europe they notice that the poor in America still live better than does the middle class where they come from?

    "mccain is ashamed of bush"

He is not, but you should be ashamed of your punctuation.

sarge: "He is not, but you should be ashamed of your punctuation."

McCain is most CERTAINLY ashamed of bush. If he isn't why not bring him out for some speeches? Obama brought Clinton and all sorts of people he wasn't ashamed of, whether he should have been or not. If McCain weren't ashamed of bush, he would have brought him out regardless of public opinion. But on the contrary of what you claim, McCain went OUT OF HIS WAY to AVOID bush, even asking him NOT to participate or come near conferences, speeches, show up for pics, etc. Hell, when Cheney made a comment the other day McCain basically cringed and tried to distance himself from it ASAP.

Bush is bad for business, and the world knows it. Just because it makes you upset does not make it so. Bush is and always has been a loser, and most of the US finally sees it as well.

I don't know why the poor in the US would live better than the middle class in Canada and Europe. I think that must mean that must mean that the poor in the US live better than the middle class in the US. I guess it depends on what you mean by "live better".

When Bush drops off the presidential radar, I'm sure that people here will find plenty to blame in either McCain or Obama--Obama for being a socialist even though he is not and McCain for taking over the leadership of the idiocracy even though we don't quite have one yet.

"When Bush drops off the presidential radar"

Bush dropped off the radar quite some time ago. All you hear of him nowadays is him trying to push one last measure through so he can be remembered for something utter than sheer and utter failure (and he fails at pushing said measures through, too!). Beyond that, even he is trying to distance himself from what he sees in the mirror.

Anyway, the righties on here have already set up their defense for siding with bush thanks to McCain's campaign; they can simply say, "The past is the past, we are for change!" or some other lame attempt to distance themselves from the once hearty armchair hurrahs for bush.

McCain is most CERTAINLY ashamed of bush.

He most certainly is not. He just hates Bushes guts, like the rest of us.

Nessie: Oh I'm not denying that he and nearly everyone else in the world hates bush; that is also fact. But, as McCain is doing, one often hides embarrassments away and hope they don't show up at the party mouthing off, etc. 'tain't just anger with Bushie-boy, I'm afraid... there are a WHOLE lot of embarrassed people who once stood behind the man like he was a god.

    Nessie

I hear ya, Smith. The only thing McCain has to be embarrassed about is betraying his principles and becoming more like Bush.

but in canada and europe they notice that the poor in America still live better than does the middle class where they come from?

Lifesytles created by debt I guess you could say are better than others, until the bank forcloses on the lifestyles and then the bank goes bankrupt itself. The Bush administration has added 4 trillion dollars in national debt or about a 66% increase(the worst spending habits of any president), adding to what could be become the great foreclosure, perhaps that is part of way he has been hiding.
