Bush is pathetic - he's overseeing the spending of $12-20 billion a month on Iraq and Iraqis, burying America even further into debt in the process.
What about America and Americans?
Oh, that's right - Bush doesn't care about them.

I hope they get more than the folks of Katrina got.
Did you see the $Millions of stuff that FEMA had in warehouses and never gave it out. I'm not talking about shoddy stuff. Or used stuff. But warehouses of brand new name brand stuff from appliances to kitchen ware.
So since the people of Katrina never needed this stuff, FEMA just gave it all away. Contacted other federal agencies from state to counties. Again I reiterate $Millions of stuff. Because people of Katrina still don't need it.
Yea I hope the people in Iowa and Mo get better than the people in Katrina got. < :-)

Is there looting going on? What are they going to loot, a feed and seed store?

Not that either situatoion is any good. At least with the Iowa/Missouri floods they can pack up a truck and drive 2 miles to save their property. Where most of the residents of Katrina didn't have cars or trucks. True there have been a lot that couldn't get their stuff out, but then they didn't have to wait it out at the stadium. They could go to their local church or local aid station and avoid being shipped off to Chicago, Dallas or Seattle.
The Iowa/Missouri floods have been a disaster and will be one hell of a lot of damage before it's over, but Katrina was worse.
Look at the land mass that Katrina effected.
Then let's wait and hear how many homes will need to be demolished and how many 1000s of refrigeraters need collecting.
I'm sure the Iowa/Missouri victoms don't feel lucky, but their luckier then the Lousiana/Mississippi victoms.
And I bet the warehouses of supplies bought by FEMA won't get given away like the $Millions of dollars of stuff given away to states/cities/counties because it wasn't needed. (Right) < :-)

Well Taka, you catching a pig makes lot more sense then grabbing a TV, carrying it through water and not having a place to watch it!
adaydream: I have a funky feeling FEMA is not going to mess up as bad as last time. Katrina was their first run (wasn't it) and they have come under a lot of scrutiny. So, if someone was thinking they can buy a car or get some porn mags this time - tough luck.

Remember they showed a black man with a loaf of bread and they called him a looter. Then there was a white couple with arm loads of stuff and they were " grabbing what ever to survive"
But my point was that dubya thought probably thought there was looters in the feed store.

From the Washington Post:
"some of those who met the president seemed grateful for hs presence. "I this shows he's a man of conscience here in the Midwest," said Katherine Habley, a librarian who took a break from reading to children at a shelter."

That's "I think this shows he's a man of conscience here in the Midwest..."

They sure ain't talking about bush.
He's the same guy who wants to make it tough on Americans facing home foreclosures, who doesn't give a toss about spiralling gas prices (let's just shuffle more oil into the Petroleum Reerve, shall we?), who couldn't care less about VA care, who vetoes a bill to insure American children and who vetoes another bill to extend unemployment benefits for those tossed out of work.
Yeah, Bush has a conscience all right, Sarge, just not for those he was elected to represent.

Read about FEMA's give away program. Buy for Katrina, store in warehouses, claim that we've done plenty for the Katrina victoms.
This could so easily be the same fate for the Iowa flood victoms. Or the fate of the US citizens. Your federal dollars being spent. Then keeping the supplies away from those who nned them, then give them away. We, the tax payers, still had to pay for this stuff to begin with.
george bush's FEMA has not done thneir job.

Bush: "Now just SHOOSH! I'm listening.... now let us turn the next page of my favourite book, "My Pet Goat".... I'm sure you'll get a lot of solace from it. I only read it in disasters."

Very likely, because Bush and many of the few remaining Reality Holdouts who still support him still don't believe humans are largely behind global warming.
"Bush tells flood-weary Iowa citizens he's listening"
But what is he actually going to DO?

Bush: "I'm lisutening, li'l ones... I'm lisutening. Now... this water is getting might high... and these are expessive shoes.... I'm just goin' to get back in my helicopper. Now, let go of me now... you's got cell phones, right? Ummmm... call the people in New Orleans and see what they did a few years back durin' that Katurina thing I think I heard about. Good luck... and remember, I'm listunening!"

Will there be federal funding for people like the ones here who apparently have what they imagine is George Bush speaking inside their heads?
