Cambodia and Thai must practise restrain and promote peaceful ways.

There may be woes at border, but PM Somchai wongsawat and PM Heng samrin must engage more dialogues to iron out the border woes.

Both PMs must help build more peace bridges between Thai people and Khmer people.

What is Thailand trying to obtain by invading Cambodia?

Main reason of this conflict is about the Preah Vihear Temple. It's a small temple, but considered quite important as a Khmer temple. Since Cambodia has Angkor Wat, Thai wants to get this temple, although it was registered as a Cambodian World heritage by UNESCO in July of this year. Thai authority was not satisfied with this decision, since, Thai troops crossed the border to occupy this archeological site which is now considered to belong to Cambodia, but the access is much easier from Thai side. Thai wants to negotiate the ownership of this site.

This warning may be largely for domestic purposes. PR Hun Sen got a boost in the polls after he dispatched Cambodian troops to eject their better armed and trained Thai counterparts from the temple last summer. "We've stood up!" was the Cambodian response and no doubt that helped Hun Sen win decisively in the July election.

Access to the temple is better on the Thai side and most tourists visit from Thailand. Both governments have benefited from this arrangement but Phnom Penh wants to end it and make the temple accessible only to those visiting Cambodia, where tourism is now the number one industry. Nobody's visiting it at all these days, and it's not the steep escarpment which is keeping them away, but patrolling soldiers.
