If he were in his right mind and wanted to get a death sentence, you would think he'd have gotten on a bus to the US. Guess he wasn't/isn't in his right mind.

Being "Not guilty by reason of insanity" will be difficult to prove. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that mean that the accused has to NOT understand that what they did (were doing) was wrong?

He can't get a death sentence in Canada.
