Well, well, well! Our amigos up north are finally standing up to the dictators in Teheran?? Finally growing a nice pair of huevos?? God/s bless Canada!!! May the good people of Canada stand up against hate and violence! The Iranian regime must have done something really, really bad to piss of the Canadians and forcing them to close down their embassy in Teheran!!! What did they do??

Finally?! Has your country stood up to them?

Harper is doing a wonderful job spinning this. No comments about TD bank freezing Iranians and Canadian Iranian's bank accounts? This is only hurting The public, not the government. Harper is on a quest to stop helping any Canadian who is abroad - clearly demonstrated by closures of visa offices, consulate offices... If he's going to start using "security" as a reason perhaps being the first nation in Libya back up and running wasn't such a great idea. Same can be said for numerous other places we have offices.

How does closing a "visa office" (which issues Canadian visas) stop helping a Canadian who is abroad?

The fact that law-abiding Iranian-Canadians, whose only crime is their place of birth, have had their bank accounts frozen is a despicable violation of their constitutional rights and human dignity.

These embassy closures were obviously done at the behest of another country. I doubt that Uncle Harper actually loses sleep at night over perceived disgressions of the Iranian government.

As far as I know, Iran hasn't attacked any other country in recent history.

Severing diplomatic relations isn't very diplomatic, is it?

Finally, a country with the internal fortitude to leave. The absence will make absolutely no difference in Iran's plans or response to sanctions. It is a good way to save a few million/year.
