Love Thailand (not Bangkok) and but these people are so far behind. The front runners are the kid PM now and the sister of a billionaire fugitive and another fella who is a businessman joker... I see a riot breaking out so the get the squirt guns ready. Once the sister is in power tomorrow she will pardon him and let poo hit the fans. They tell me she will win by a thread....

When things get out of hand, the army will step in with another coup d'etat. Who needs a constitution to settle political disputes, when you've go an army that's loyal to the king?

Oh, it's way more than a thread. Everywhere outside Bangkok Thaksin is still very, very popular.

I really don't know. I talked to rich and poor people from different parts of Thailand, and didn't find many who supported him. I'm not saying the doesn't have support, but I hardly met any supporters, especially after "arson attacks allegedly carried out by fleeing protesters." People were angry with him, and with his supporters. A lot of folks criticized the military, but mostly because they hadn't stepped in soon enough to end the violence, not because they stepped in. Still, Thaksin's sister has won, so either Thaksin has more support than I thought, or else people see something more positive, and less troubling, in his sister. In any case, I with the country good fortune.

I don't know much about Thai politics but she is certainly the prettiest national leader I've ever seen. Looks like a very lovely lady.

Agree with Harkins - she is very easy on the eye for a national leader! Let's be honest though: she is just a puppet - Thaksin will come back in a year or so and shore up his support again. Unless there is another coup d'etat before then, which is highly likely. Thailand has had 18 coups d'etat! lol!

    Harkins,

You aren't the only one thinking this; put "Yingluck Shinawatra" into Google and the first autocomplete suggestion that comes up is "Yingluck Shinawatra hot."

    "The photogenic Yingluck"

She's photogenic all right. I hope she proves to be an excellent leader too!
