Get those Iraqi soldiers and police, that we've been paying SBillions to get trained, and get them on the streets doing their jobs. We can't snoop and poop with the locals like they can. They know who the bad guys are.

This was a failure of the Iraqi police department.

Bring our troops home. < :-)

And by golly, that is the most deluded comment I've read on here for quite some time.

I'd say that the tragedy of this story, like pretty much every story that comes out of this nightmare, is the very clear evidence that no matter how barbaric Saddam was, we - and by "we" I mean the warmongering neocons and blinkered armchair generals who closed their ears to the worldwide protests of their electorates - had neither the right nor the competence to go stomping into a sovereign country, plunder it and impose Republican Party Democracy Lite.

More than a million lie dead because of that folly, and these fifteen souls now join them.

How Bush, Blair and the rest of the Coalition of the Willing-to-Commit-War-Crimes sleep at night I will never know. But at least they got rich out of it. Why sheep like the above poster keep bleating the prescribed Doublethink really defies explanation.

Heh, well they've nearly all disappeared so you've got to give sarge credit for being the last man standing in Denial.

I predict in a years time finding someone who voted for Bush Co, or his disateorius foreign policy blunders, will be like finding a fart in a jacuzzi.

No, the surge soothed the 100+ deaths a day blood-bath. It is not over as this threadn and the thread the day before shows, and, as even the article states "in a sign that militants retain the ability to cause mass casualties despite a sharp improvement in security."

Violence in Iraq is still at un-acceptable levels. Deny this if you wish, we're used to it.
