Oh wait, the incredibly connected with reality fold will offer their wisdom!

This was not racially motivated. This was defiance driven young man with little respect for police. When you ignore the law and a policeman I would expect a result I would not be proud of.

Mark, I am with you 100%! This young BLACK punk, thought he could not only mouth off to the cop, but to punch him and then try to get that police officer´s gun, if the young Black hoodlum had punched and knocked out the White cop, we would be reading about a White officer who not only got knocked out and killed with his own gun, but then gets gang raped by all of these hoodlums! Hoodlums are scum, any color, White, Black, Brown, Yellow, etc...if any stupid gets sassy with another criminal, they will get their brains blown out, the Crips, Bloods, Hells Angles, Mexican Mafia etc..they take care of their own trouble makers, so is it any surprise that a young hoodlum tries to be macho against a COP and ends up getting shot dead??? NO!! So Magic Johnson, Spike Lee, save us ALL the favor, dry up them FAKE crocodile tears and just ask yourselves, If the COP had been BLACK and the BLACK cop ended up shooting this overgrown, sassy 18 year old Black hoodlum dead???? Would there be so much OUTRAGE??? HELL NO!! But the cop here is WHITE so time to vent a bunch of pent of anger, hostility against the country and people who forced you and your ancestors from Africa into slavery by White Europeans immigrants, sure anybody would be angry but look at how the US PRESIDENT goes about fighting for justice, by getting himself EDUCATED!! By getting out the VOTE not by BURNING down other people's businesses etc...if we MINORITIES destroy our own neighborhoods, etc..the KKK will only be laughing and saying, see. I told you them colored folk are wild, see them be yelling, shooting, burning down their own neighborhoods etc..WE MUST ME MORE INTELLIGENT THAN both the KKK and Spike Lee!!! As far as I am concerned, both have their heads up where the SUN DONT SHINE!

What a convenient! These so called black stars have benefits much from society. Have they done enough to promote the well being among African American? Have they been the good role model? Education is the way out of this vicious cycle.

Intact family structure and education! Stay away from gangs, drugs, and scum. You have a great chance to leave the depressed areas never to return! Some rappers, not all, often promote the desperate lifestyle. Those same rappers profit considerable doing so also.

Basketball player James posted a picture of Brown walking arm in arm with Trayvon Martin, another black youth controversially killed.

He should have included that young girl gunned down in a park in Chicago last year after she had returned from marching in the Inaguration parade in 2013. And he should have had all of those young Black youths gunned down by the Black on Black violence in Chicago, or the Brown on Black ethnic clensing being carried out in Southern CA by the Mexican gangs on Black residents in poor neighborhoods to get them to move out, or the case in SF when an illegal alien MS13 banger who had been deported gunned down 3 members (father and two sons) of a family in a case of "mistaken identity" on the bangers part.

When he brings up those issues, then maybe I will have a little bit of respect from him and others, until then they are just trying to stay relevant in the press.

Only a cessation of confrontional elements within the media giving a platform to encorage violent protest will de-escalate the situation from spiraling out of control. Far to many political scores being settled.

@El

Wow, can't argue on that. I'm sick of these celebs talking so much garbage about something they don't know anything about. Spike Lee? Are you serious, he's almost as bad a Sharpton. All of these snobbish elites live in a world far, far from Any Black communities in the cities, they all live in plush cozy $$$$$ million dollar homes where mostly White people live and would never themselves ever move to these low income areas. They're all hypocrites. Reading these comments just wants to make me vomit.

Isn't it grand when celebrities chime in with their guru wisdom. I wonder when will they go down to Ferguson to lend their support? Oh, wait, that would mean hiring extra security and getting close to people that are below them! Well, then they will just tweet.

All these celebrities that are so outraged should go down to Ferguson without their security details and hangout with the little people!

Let's see how many would dare venture into that reality without 20 guards to protect them against the very people that live there. My money is that not one celebrity would.

@joe

Exactly. Not to get off topic, but just to illustrate how out of touch these people are, but when I was still working for NBC we had Jerry Seinfeld in the studio who was to appear on Leno's show and while in the Green room, celebs while they wait can get anything, he asked for a bowl of M&Ms and he always ask that the staff remove the Brown ones or he won't eat them. As if he can't dig them out himself. That's just a smidgen of how unrealistic and out of touch these people really are. Before the Brown incident, I didn't hear any of these celebs bringing up their concern for low income and impoverished minorities and putting their money where their mouth is. Then when someone like Brown is killed they get all bent out of shape and have this, we are all united when I know full well on other everyday occasions, Brown wouldn't have turn a single head.

Nothing like a celebrity baring meaningful sound bite, more heart than brain..sorry to be so cynically challenged.

I'd think they'd have more common sense to find out more about Mike Brown beyond the fact he was a black youth shot by a white officer. This kid was a thug life punk, and one of those types that go looking and causing trouble.

And he most definitely should have been put in jail for robbery, and assault of a police officer. but neither of those crimes justifies summary execution in the streets.

Everybody now is giving their 2 cents, including the celebs known as radio show hosts.

Summary execution? Sorry but no it was not an execution, it was a shooting. As I said, if one doesn't intentionally cause trouble in the first place the chances of him getting into more trouble would have been nil. Apparantly the evidence is in the police officer's favor. And the feds are investigating the situation as well and if they turn up more evidence that solidifies the position of the police then guess what? The officer will still be justified in his shooting of an idiot thug that didn't know when to quit until it was too late.

Unarmed or not one doesn't attempt to assault an officer in the US. According to the evidence so far, that is what this young fool did sparking the course of event's that lead to his death.

Too many people (including the media) and especially his parents are hell bent on whipping a situation up into "white cop shoots black youth" and are totally ruining effective, truthful reporting. Remember I've grown up in these types of neighborhoods with people that act just like his parents. They're full of it... so full of "You killed my child (regardless of what he was doing in the first place) and I want revenge regardless if it's legal or not."

Reminds me of one of Chris Rock's skits about black on black racism. And he was right, Black people can't stand dumb @$$ ***. I would have thought he would have been more intelligent on this issue.

Media needs to get fully behind a 'cooling off' period, as in London. Public figures have a responsibility to tone down the rheortic.
