The family is waiting for the tension to mount and place a bet for the best favorable name to win big.

I'd bet on 'Bob'

Charlotte? I think of the songs "Charlotte the H..." and "22 Acacia Ave". So if they listen to Iron Maiden then I think you can rule out Charlotte.

Oh the pointless things that hog the news agenda........ charlotte has history but not great rhyming slang. alice also has history. Victoria diana elizabeth?? could get 50,000 to 1 getting all 3 right.....

'Oh the pointless things that hog the news agenda...'

I'm not sure this is so pointless this time. A perfectly timed royal birth for the election and all the ensuing nonsense in the media could give the Tories a boost in election week. No doubt the royals themselves will be hoping this is the case. Victoria could be very fitting if the Tories are returned on Friday.

Baby bounce for Cameron? Maybe. i think the point about pointless is the name and not the timing of the birth. i am all for Referendia.

@Wakarimasen The Tories will love all coverage of this including the silly 'suspense' of what name will be chosen. Keep this patriotic bounce as high as possible. An announcement of 'Victoria' on Wednesday night would have the Tories slavering.

I have made a ten Pound bet that the name will be, "Shanice". The odds are a bit low but I stand to make a fair bit if I'm right.

The bookies favourite isn't Charlotte. All the bookies I've looked at has Alice at the top.

They could strike a tremendous blow for religious and gender equality, while being super-fashionable at the same time:

Welcome to the world, Princess Mohamed!

If she's named Alice, will she grow to be ten feet tall?
