one of the most undesirable places to be on the planet: chavez's venezuela. no matter what good he has done for the poor, it's now payback time, and you must give your soul to him or you go straight to hell (his jails)

The man is a menace. How he dare take away from his rich friends! Whoops, only some of the houses....not his rich friends.

Chavez must be desperate.
What's next for his failed socialist utopia? Starting a war?

Actually the war thing has been used over and over again by using their arch rival COLOMBIA as a scape goat. Many of the communist Colombian rebels attack in Colombia then run across the border to the Venezulan side for many years now, and Chavez always threatens Colombia that if they dare follow these guys into Venezuela then Chavez would have to take out his army to defend it from Colombia, which is a bunch of BS, and from Caracas so much COCAINE gets exported to Miami and to the rest of the world under the watchful and loving eye$ of Comandante Chave$z!

You may not like Chavez or Castro, but are their countrymen threatened by death squads? That is and has been the case is many South and Central American countries supported by the States. Are they worse than the Pinochets and Fujimori's?
He is talking about taking over homes and inns that were illegally built. Is that so much worse than people in the States losing their homes to foreclosure by banks that misled them and got away with all sorts of financial shenanigans?

@gaijintraveller: partly agree with you, there's no "fair" system in this world. but in any place other than cuba, venezuela, etc, you have a choice and the chance to have a good life, to express yourself, to not loose everything because you think differently from the dictator in charge.
