Cheney is forgetting that American people said 'NO' to Bush's policies and this is how Obama got elected.

The sooner that dick cheney leaves office and drifts off to his final hours, the best for the nation.
I would hope that he does stand trial for war crimes against humanity, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
Just go off to the elephant grave yard and just shut up. < :-)

"Cheney says Obama should adopt Bush terrorism policies"
To make him and his mates even richer?
Not likely!

Here's to hoping that Obama realizes how right Bush and Cheney are.

Sarge - "Here's to hoping that Obama realizes how right Bush and Cheney are."
ROFLMAO!!!!

Sushi - You're right - there's not really much hope that Obama is going to realize how right Bush and Cheney are, or that even if he does, he will acknowledge it.

No, I was just laughing because even after these wars have been instrumental in bankrupting your country and saddling your presumably as yet unborn grandchildren with debt, you still demand more war.
That's hilarious! Most people try to learn from their mistakes.... :-)

SS3, the war has only been 7% of our budget while domestic entitlement programs are 60%. And that will in turn be dwarfed by the incoming administration.
Back to the OT, didn't Obama already adopt Bush's Iraq policy, that the end of the war would be decided by the generals on the ground?

WhiteHawk got a link that proves these numbers? I'd like to see it. Interesting. < :-)

WhiteHawk,
Would that be 7% we didn't have, or what? I'm budgeting $5K for a new plasma TV. That's about 7% of my budget. Unfortunately no one will loan me the money and I can't print it.
I don't think that Bush's Iraq policy is that the end of the war will be decided by the generals on the ground. I thought Bush's policy was that we will leave when they ask us to leave. Or maybe you're thinking his policy was the we will leave when they ask us to leave--as long as we feel like it.
I think Obama will adopt some of Bush's policies, modify others and create still others which will set an entirely different tone for what we are doing to come to grips with terrorism. Bush got many policies wrong and that derives from faulty vision and from an overconfidence in the value of power.

The bush budget has 54% allocated for defense and the multiple wars going on. 7% is what we may spend on Afganistan. Stigletz puts the Iraq war total cost at $3 trillion.
Regarding Cheney, what has he been smoking? 8 years of failure is enough.

Yeah absolutely! Arrest Cheney and detain him without charge.

"Arrest Cheney and detain him without charge."
And waterboard him, find out what dick knows. Afterall, dick sez it isn't harmless.

It is harmless.

Its like Emperor Palpatine telling Princess Leia she should use Imperial torture methods for the New Republic!
Yeah, I agree. Hold Dick without charge and waterboard him. After all, he cannot use the immunity Bush gave him against charges that have not been laid. And that my friends, is the Bush administration's own logic on how to subvert the law.

I think we've all had quite enough of Bush's terrorism policies. I think Obama could try some anti-terrorism policies for a change.

WhiteHawk got that link?
Holder is going through the committee right now to see if he's going to be Attorney General. He's already said that water boarding is wrong and not an acceptable form of treatment.
The Obama administration isn't going to make up the rules as they go, no matter how far they go.
He also said that the president doesn't have the authority to go over established rules and laws.
This won't be anything like the bush administration. < :-)

"I think we've all had quite enough of Bush's terrorism policies"
Yes, seven years without an attack is getting quite boring.

Of course Cheney wants Obama to keep the Bush policy going. If Obama does then the Republicans can blame Obama for Bush's failed policies.
Cheney has been one of the designers of our countries downward spin. He and his bunch of war profiteers need to go! They need to go the moment that door hits the Bush administration on the rear.
Change is good......
Hey maybe under an Obama administration we may get Bin Laden! At least it seems like Obama wants to catch him or better yet kill Bin Laden.

Yes, at this point, everything congress spends (including the current $825 billion "stimulus" plan) is money we don't have.
And SW2, if you can't buy the plasma TV, I bet you can't buy the new car either.
Obama stepped back from his "16 months" campaign promise well before the general election. I think it was during a call to the Iraqi Foreign Minister, when Obama said that he would take much of his direction (on removing troops from Iraq) from the generals on the ground. Which was part of Bush's policy too. Besides, we already have a plan with Iraq to have our combat troops out by 2010 or 2011, so all Obama has to do is sit back and let the media give him the credit.

From the above link:
2006 Defense (all): 19%, Enitlements: 59%, Net interest on debt: 7%, Other programs: 15%

Did he say anything about violating the constitution under Janet Reno? Pardoning members of Puerto Rican terrorist groups?
Nah, they got that out of the way back in the primaries.

WhiteHawk,
What new car are you talking about?
I'm not sure how you think Obama is backtracking on his promise. I think he has just gone on record that the joint chiefs plan for troop withdrawal is not fast enough and that he wants all combat troops out by May 2010.

SW2, you were comparing a new plasma tv to the Iraq war. If you don't have/can't borrow the money for a new plasma tv (Iraq war), you really don't have/can't borrow the money for a new car (domestic entitlement programs). Get it now?
Which is the agreement we already have with Iraq. So we could've had budget-cutting McCain instead.

Sarge, who was president, if fact reading my pet goat, when america was being attacked. Bush let 9-11 happen on his watch. And then invaded Iraq, the wrong country, afterward. Terrorism attacks are higher now than ever worldwide. Do you even bother to read the news?

Whitehawk, your figures are wrong. Current spending on the military by bush is about $1 trillion a year. As I mentioned the Iraq invasion will cost $3-5 trillion alone. All military spending, including payments for past wars, is $1.5 trillion per year. The US spends more on military that the rest of the world combined. Its criminal how this has happened.
Your figures are illusions to hide the truth. Just like bush did with WMD in Iraq.

zurconium, if my figures wrong, then how come they add up?
Don't worry, Obama is here. Now you'll see some real spending! Hahaha!
