we are talking about China and its suppression of its people across the country and within the country.

This accusation cannot be further from the truth. Your people are completely brainwashed by the media. You know nothing about China, yet you think you know, how pathetic!

  • redacted at 01:43 PM JST - 17th April

Why do Chinese fear CNN's opinion so much? It's one channel. Americans, even many of those classified as "poor," have hundreds to choose from.

Chinese are still way too Confucian in this respect. Grow up.

Sooner or later China will have to choose - do they want democracy or do they want a silly, essentially medieval Confucian state dressed up to look like a modern and equal player among the G8 nations and the like?

Sorry. Meant to say "thugs and goons."

avenger at 12:29 AM JST - 17th April - China compared to the other superpowers have a very peaceful history in terms of invading. Who is the US to say anything when they stole the southern statsfrom Mexico, killed off the Indians. England and France has stolen and occupied countries all over the globe. The only country China has invaded is Tibet. But if China does not occupy, Russia, India Pakistan or terrorists will occupy intead.

I am an America, but one person does not represent the whole of America.

Perhaps China is actually a model country, high growth and a low crime rate. Better than living in a so called "free society" when you are scared of getting robbed or killed daily.

Why be scared of such things? Move to a different place then! I live in America and I am not scared of such things. Why live in fear?

I bet that CNN were telling Cafferty that he had to go on assignment to China and he did not fancy it - he certainly won't get a visa now!

To Chinese people - follow my example and never watch CNN. I haven't watched it for years and do not miss it.

  • Hapa_musume at 06:32 PM JST - 18th April

For this I actually support China upon. Caffety wakes up wondering who p*ssed in his Cheerios every morning, and expects news hounds to listen to his daily whine. To me, he's the most irritating MSM commentator.

He needs some Prozac and a hug!

"To Chinese people - follow my example and never watch CNN. I haven't watched it for years and do not miss it."

I read Xinhua all the time. It's important to know what the official CCP stance is on everything even if it's absurd proganda. I'm sure the Chinese govt would also like all Chinese people to not watch CNN and stick to the Chinese news that blacks out and censors whatever the govt doesn't want them to see.

I wonder how much China pays these people to come into forums like this and scream about an anti-bias?

The footage is not cooked. They call say the bias is from "the west", but not all the footage is from the US, or "the west". Footage is available from other media that shows the exact same thing. Is the ENTIRE world editing their footage to show an anti-China bias?

And here's the tricky part? Is everyone, all over the world, editing the EXACT same footage to show the EXACT same thing? Yea, what are the odds that manipulated footage, but different people, is gonna result in the exact same footage? "Hey, what a suprise... I inserted a guy with tan pans and a blue shirt hitting the exact same guy as you did..."

Get over it.... the images displayed are the truth.

China has an immense history of doing whatever it wants and then when it gets seen by the outside world.... they deny, accuse and whine about how everyone hates the poor, misunderstood, Chinese. Their statements will, 100% of the time, use the words "ignorance", "hostility" and "vicious"...

It would be almost funny if it wasn't so predictable. It happens EVERY time. You know what else? You can take "China" in the entire above post and replace it with "DPRK" and it is just as true.

"goons and thugs"... and you don't like it ?Want an apology? Let chinese people have free election to choose their leaders then we will discuss the matter later,OK?

  • TonyUS at 12:43 PM JST - 22nd April

    gmygmygmy...

I do not know China, people are brainwashed outside of China. I think this is completely oposite of the facts. The people of China are those that are restricted from news and events within their own country because of the self censorship by journalists and news organizations because they know the end results of what would happen to them if reports are not up to the regulations and censorship standards of the CCP. You do not agree with this statement??? Yes or no?

What is this stuff about "Beijing starts new ‘patriotic’ education campaign in Tibet" https://www.taipeitimes.com/News/front/archives/2008/04/22/2003409954

China launches education drive in Lhasa http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080421/wlnm/chinatibetdc2

US seeks to block Zimbabwe-bound Chinese arms http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080421/apongocastpe/uszimbabwe

This is just of the last 24 hours of what many want the world to stay blind to.. I do not know China…. or is it that you do not know China or just wish to keep a blind eye to what China is about when it comes to what leads the people in thought and mind with in China?

The truth is that the leaders of China are a bunch of goons and thugs and it should have already happened that the people of China come well aware of their demise as a society. The society of China has been shaped by these goons and thugs. Jack Cafferty hit this nail directly on the head. This is the truth and many know it very well but are afraid to come out and say it openly, but it is known well around the world. News does not come from one source and the sources are not ganging up on China as you wish to try and project some scenario of such. Facts are facts and when we look at China we look at China by taking into account the facts that quietly are stated and addressed by commentators, rights organizations, independent agencies and government officials from all around the world that also have the intelligence reports handed to them from within their own security networks. It is not all just ganging up on China for the hell of it, it is trying to establish the facts of what China is inside. Like the outcome or not, it is the truth based on facts not some view seen through some rose colored glasses. All that does is empower those that are keeping the people of China under thumb. It is very displeasuring to see the outside always being the one to bring good to the people of China and those that live it have to stay silenced with out a voice. That is what I see as PETHETIC! Is that the word you used?

It's wonderful that Olympics will be held in China soon. China is so much focused by West. Which implies many guys are interested in China,if you want know China, just go there and feel real China, and then you'll exactly who's telling truth. Western distorted coverage on China only make Chinese be more united.

Obviously, some western media are fighting a losing battle, reading Sunzi Tactics before smearing China, don't simply regard China leardership be boons and thugs.

The 'goons and thugs' comes out of the mouth from someone, no doubt, who was born and raised in a country that is the perfect example of democracy. It also comes out of the hole of someone wearing a set of goggles focused on a very narrow perspective. Furthermore it comes out of a foul hole. If CNN has any self respect, which I am beginning to doubt, they should get rid of this character.

  • Ivespoken at 12:34 AM JST - 23rd April

You want an apology? I'll give you one!

...sorry, for my country saying that! It was "really" mean of us!

  • TonyUS at 01:28 PM JST - 23rd April
