Amazes me that so many people on here are pro-China in the face of it still being a backward, repressive regime that totally papers over all of the cracks in China's own history (Cultural REvolution, Great Leap Forward etc).

China is a backward repressive regime which is also not communist. It's an example of a successful failure. I hope people do rememberTiananmen Square, and who supported the mass murder of peaceful protesters, who was neutral and contemned it.

The fact is that the murderous old goats who run China cannot stop the internet revolution. It will eventually get them. Then maybe, if the Chinese have tired of free market economics with an iron fist, China can have a real socialist revolution.

The evil old men running China have reason to fear the memory of Tiananmen Square and Tweeter, for China's streets are destined to be filled with the blood of tyrants.

that's because they are ethincally Chinese "proud" of China but all living outside of mainland china free from these problems.

It is a normal response for a massive country to control it's people, al a Patriot Act. Like Yalnuts says, the smart citizens will not be stopped.

China will improve with time,as they get richer and richer. Many people in China have PCs and make Lenovo-ibm PCs. It is only a matter of time,when China get better. Okay we admit China bad record with crackdowns in Tiananmen.

Look at the record today for China achivements. China now makes lowest costs aircrafts costing only 20 million each via ARJs. Petrochina has overtaken Exxon Mobil andChina is now number 1 in olympics and China can provide 8000 billion dollars or more business to global community.

China provides more food than ever for other nations, than ever before in form of fruits and vegetables. This has provided is big amounts to global food abundance.

China carmakers doing well and BYD/others making electric cars. Most PCs components are now made in China and also mobile phone batteries.

The list goes on and on. It is the west/US which needs to do more,China is doing great job globally,bringing more abundance to world and reducing global scarcity.

Not only is the ChiComs employing censorship on the high-tech end by blocking the web sites, it's hilarious to see the plain-clothes policemen near Tienenmen Square desperately interfering with foreign media reporting by "accidentally" getting in the way of the reporters and cameramen (some utilizing umbrellas in broad sunlight)

Great image of the country and system they're offering to the rest of the free world....
