Absolutely disgusting. CCP, take care of your own people first before increasing your military or shooting rockets into space. Or at some point the people will no longer tolerate you holding on to power.

OssanULTRA- My god!!! Shock horror! Japan would never have anh incident like this.

Japan doesn`t have a history of mercury tainted food, bleached rice, countless labelling scandals, selling tainted rice, and selling out of date produts, does it?

Melamine added to raise the protein content when tested. In other words the same thing that some snake did to wheat gluten that killed a bunch of people's pets last year. This time it's even worse because this product was for human consumption. China really needs to get a handle on profiteering that puts the public at risk. The only positive thing is that when the person responsible is caught the Chinese will deal with him accordingly (i.e. swift trial and swift execution)

rjd jr- Off topic as usual ,and accusing posters without evidence. Join another forum man, if you don`t like it.

China should ensure taht it complies with developed worlds standards for food safety.

China will only lose business from these scandals, the same way Japan did with he mercury scandal.

The poison in the milk formula was what they added to Wheat gluten that killed and injured pets in around the world.

Then unscruplious (sp) kill their own by adding it to their foods.

    Such a shame. < :-)

Someone is REALLY in trouble in China because some of the tinted food wind up staying China and not shipped to Japan (or U.S.) as is the norm with Chineese tainted food.

Actually, no. Infant deaths resulting from powdered milk is a stereotypical African continent type of problem. The examples you cite are the kinds of problems that occur in developed countries.

OssanULTRA; you do not answer my earlier post. The problems i mentioned do not usually occur in developed countries. The mercury incident was infamous worldwide.

Are all African countries under developed. Are the Chinese developed, do they take this issues seriously? China needs to imporoved immensly.

Japan needs to improve a lot, just look up how much Japanese produce is banned from Europe for poor hygiene.

    Then we are in agreement.

The article isn't about Japan or Europe or anywhere other than China.

OssanULTRA- The other countries were mentioned as they all do the same, as you agreed. They spend a lot on military, and do not spend enough on food safety, in the 5 richest countries apart from China, Japan is the biggest culprit.

Be carefull where you r food is from in China, equally be carefukll in Japan, tehir standards are also poor.

Tainted toothpaste, faulty tires and other goods.

Yeah right. This would be a two page article if they listed everything. I don't know anybody state side who wants to buy anything from China.

I don't know anybody state side who wants to buy anything from China.

That's funny. I'm sure they do it all the time. Somehow 99% of Chinese imports seem to work just fine. Of course, everyone will notice once there's a problem.

Don't worry, heads will roll, and peace will be restored to the galaxy.

Terrikus I agree. I don't claim to know everybody. Don't think I want to either. But as you stated, now that there is a problem, I think a lot of people who never cared will start to look at the bottom of the product to see where its from.
