China school minivan accident kills 8 children, 3 adults

In November 2011, 20 children from a private kindergarten and two adults were killed and another 42 children injured when their nine-seat school bus - which had been illegally converted to hold 64 people - crashed head-on with a coal truck in Gansu province.

Illegally converted to go from a nine seat school to carrying 64... hmm, let me see, oh yeah these pesky seats aren't needed and if we get rid of them all then you can cram 64 children in standing like sardines. What kind of sick bastards come up with these ideas in China?

Terrible regulation control. Looking for the profit only and safety, not a concern. As for comfort....who cares in their mind.
