The statement was referring to the Chinese government, and not to Chinese people or to Chinese-Americans. Why the Chinese gov try to make it as an issue of the whole Chinese!?

If they don’t like to be called as a bunch of goons and thugs then don’t acts like one!

The junk thing was a bit exaggerated perhaps, as was the use of the word "goons"...the Chinese government is far too evil and insidious for that. Thugs on the other hand, seems entirely appropriate!

the more they try to hit back, the more true jack's statements become

Just tell me this: go into a 100yen or one dollar store, go in the back and take a REAL CLOSE look at the pliers. Few, if any country can make that plier at that level of quality and, at that price w/ a profit!!! The pliers is not "junk", and it symbolizes the economic turmoil growing. It's a political nightmare, and I warned them before it started.

There are, currently, two "monsters" growing in the Pacific which were developed by the Clinton Administration - a) priming and accelerating the economic takeoff of the PRC economy; b) indirectly accelerated the development and cohesion of APEC well beyond the young inception date of 1989. Both are on a roll, and there are others coming.

It's pretty interesting to watch the Chinese government put on a show for their people.

    What will be next?

  • OssanULTRA at 12:03 AM JST - 18th April

"‘‘They’re basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they’ve been for the last 50 years.’’ He also called products manufactured in China ‘‘junk.’’

Way to go Jack. Tell it like it is. Meantime obviously any apology made to the CCP government is "not sincere". It never is since if they ever accepted it, they couldn't make an issue out of it anymore. Just ask the J-govt. It's also a laugh to see the CCP govt speaking on behalf of it's people" when it's the one govt most likely to gun down the Chinese people to protect it's own position of power.

Losing face does not equal sincere apology. When are China/Japan going to join the rest of the world?

  • mtt at 03:30 AM JST - 18th April

When China is shamelessly and tirelessly pumping out lies and propagandas everyday, it has no moral authority to attack on an honest comment made by our lovable curmudgeon.
Are they serious when talking about "professional ethics of journalism"? Yes, they need it more than anybody.

  • HoDeDo at 06:21 AM JST - 18th April

The CCP is sounding a lot like their buddies over in North Korea right now. They've been kind of quiet the last few years leading up to the Olympics, but as you can see, it doesn't take much to get them all spun-up into full-on Communist propoganda mode.

  • Kwaabish at 11:23 AM JST - 18th April

Ah, China, always the victim. "Why is everyone speaking bad about us? It's unacceptable!!!"

    YAWN....

  • usajapanstinks at 01:43 PM JST - 19th April

You bunch of goons and thugs here know nothing about China and Tibet! Have you ever heard of the media talk about the history of Tibet? I bet you haven't since the media never wanted to let you know the truth! All you learned about China are from the biased media that is full of anti-China atmosphere. You are not even qualified to talk about China and Tibet at this point. Get some truth first before throwing out only the hatred towards China! The Jackass's remarks meant for Chinese government only, not aiming the people? What a joke! Anyone who make this some sort of excuses are total idiots!!!! Tibet was, is, and will always be part of China! The whole western world now is afaid of China would one day become the world's number one, that's why they take every opportunity to make China look bad. Think with your brain first before wasting your saliva!

"The whole western world now is afaid of China would one day become the world's number one, that's why they take every opportunity to make China look bad. "

In adopting Marxism and Communism you chose to ape the biggest losers in Western politics and history.

We'll be laughing at you for many years, no matter how powerful you become.
