And SO it CONTINUES, until something BLOWS UP.

Yeah, China just can't understand the responsibility of a world power.

.... Maybe a lighthouse ot two I Hope!
With GPS lighthouses are no longer needed. Would those "lighthouses" be strictly patrolled to prevent any trespassing other than Chinese "scientists"? Or are they an expansion of Chinese territorial waters?

Everything under control of China would be a wasted land soon. These paradise reefs and islands will turn into fortresses to be a part of island-hopping strategy by expansionist greedy China.
MarkG
Yea, I thought the same, create a land mass, claim it, stretch it further and further. Before we realize China will own the world! They can't be that stupid though. The rest of the world enriching China is what is dumb.

China is a funny nation! It's like your unsympathetic neighbour comes invading your garden and starts drilling for oil and when you ask him to stop drilling in your garden he says that you're not allowed to interfere because the garden was originally his. He will also assure you that once he is finished, you will also be allowed to profit from his constructions but in truth that's just a deceiving promise.

Tolerating the Communist Chinese expansion would be the same as the pacifism that enabled the Nazis (National Socialist Party).

I guess lighthouses can be used for dual purpose. They can be installed as Air Traffic Control tower and lighting display for maritime navigation. If they are used for maritime trade and civil aviation, it will be useful for both Sea and Air.

China has overlapping claims with the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan and Brunei in the South China Sea, through which $5 trillion in ship-borne trade passes every year.
This is key to the dispute, any restrictions military or otherwise, imposed through air exclusion zone would constitute unacceptable behavior..

LOL. If pigs had wings, they could fly. China has no intention of using "its military capabilities in a manner that is conducive to maintaining peace and stability". They intend to use it to intimidate and coerce. Very glad Obama is moving ahead with his "Asia Pivot", although problems in the Mid-East are taking focus away from that.

And we must believe China has good intentions. Just look at the past to predict the future.

So who's really the instigator on disputed seas?

Stretch your imagination to Chinese levels.

LoL, whatever does the author mean here?? There are (were) only 40-50 japanese who participated. How can those numbers show any security link? A whloe Battalion or two of JSDF ought to be grunting alongside US-AUS.

There is a saying, "Love Thy Neighbour" and "Share with Thy Neighbour" but unfortunately, this is not the case....
The Greed of all Evils, China is big enough on her own but never enough.......... and wanted more, typical BIG BULLY.....period!!!!
