This is the Chinese approach to news dissemination. Japan should be able to wipe the floor with them in the battlefield of public opinion, if not for the secrets bill, the utterances of the new NHK chief, the revisionist education ministry...

Their own worst enemy.
Actually I think Japan should do nothing and let the CCP rant on about how it only wants world peace, blah blah.

It looks like China has a lot to hide.
I'm glad we gave the Chinese the '08 Olympics due in part to their promise of more media/journalistic freedom and their promise to improve their human right's record.
They're coming through with flying colors.

Wow, this must be the West and Japan's fault somehow. I just know someone will tell us how.

I wonder what book reference they will come out with next to describe Western Media.. The Hobbit? The Lord of the Rings?

「臭いものに蓋をする」 - and China is at the moment a bubbling cauldron of stink at the brink of boiling over. Just ask their own "netizens."

What happened to "maintaining the principles and purposes of the charter of the United Nations?" China needs to be reminded of Article 19 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948.
It also wouldn't hurt to look at Article 13.
Every Uyghur and Tibetan should be given a copy of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Aren't you familiar with the PRCs and their army of "netizens" answer by now? All of the above is "internal matters" and none of our business; the rest is Japan's fault.

China should be thrown off the Perm UNSC. It is contrdictory to the very foundations of the U.N. both in terms of internal and external matters.

The UNIVERSAL Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations.
http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/index.shtml
No, it is no longer internal matters of PRC. Pay attention to the wording "universal" on the declaration which is signed and endorsed by PRC.
PRC is violating an inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family that is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world,
OssanAmericaJan. 28, 2014 - 11:56PM JST
Agree, Ossan. If PRC cannot play a role of global moral leader, the world demands PRC to be removed from the UNSC immediately. The world does not see PRC as a moral compass.

With Xi as Smaug and the rest of the government as a bunch of Mordor orcs? Who can we get for Sauron? Saruman? This could be fun!
Unfortunately Abe is no Aragorn....
Seriously, corruption has brought down every Chinese empire from the beginning. The current government knows this but, since corruption is endemic even to their own families, they can't stop it. So they have to try to censor the news to try to hold the country - and their power - together.

These controls don't work. Never worked before. People have ways to circumvent them on the internet. With open borders you cannot prevent people from learning the truth. Even in the close bordered North Korea people know what's going on through the rumor mill.
Government news control make people to always assume the worst and the bizarre. When you block the stories of corruptions at the very top, then everyone simply assumes that ALL the officials are corrupt, and that any rumor about one official applies to all officials.
Since anything is better than the worst, unrestricted reporting can only make the Chinese government look better.

Don't be so judgmental. China has its own customs and traditions.

The equal and inalienable rights have been a pivotal equation for humanity before Christ regardless of customs and traditions.
HonestDictator
As I said before, its things like this that make China a pathetic excuse for a "developing" country trying to show itself as a super-power but still in the exact same place of stupidity that's been holding it behind for decades.

China, like all communists are idiot fools, try and block all of the internet?? Hahaha!!!!!! Pendejos!!!
