I hear Copenhagen got dumped with snow, tee hee!

It's not snow. It's shredded emails disproving global warming

When you are lost in the snow, dig in and wait. Just because there's a deadline is no reason to panic.

Schedule another summit and work steadily towards that. Not a clever time to force anything right now.

Here's the beginning of an article in yesterday's Japan Times:

"If they fail to reach a climate deal in Copenhagen, world leaders flying in their private jets and huddling in 5-star hotels will have little to show for their efforts beyond a big, fat carbon footprint. The U.N. estimates 40,500 tons of CO2 will be pumped into the atmosphere during the 12 day conference - 90% of it from flights. The rest comes from waste and electricity related to transport to and from the conference center and lodging."

The interesting thing is, President Obama's signature on this piece of paper from Copenhagen means nothing until it is ratified by the Senate. He can sign, sign, sign, and sign some more all the documants until his fingers are blue with ink, but 'twill mean nothing until it clears the US Senate. Sad that these yutzes at this UN Meeting seem to forget that the USA has no king nor Caesar who can sign any document he pleases without ratification by the Senate. Such is not the case in the USA.

I also think it is rather interesting that no conclusive data even exists concerning this whole new "religion" of man-made global "climate change". I'd sooner blame the Sun and volcaonoes before I'd blame people or any country....

no conclusive data even exists concerning this whole new "religion" of man-made global "climate change".

And no conclusive data exists concerning the religion of man-made climate change denial either. It's the sun, it's the sun!!!!!! Because it must be the sun, not that I can prove it. I want my cake and I want to eat it too.

Well, I could do with a bit of global warming right about now. It's 5 degrees in my bedroom...

    Sarge

Nanda, you had better get yourself a CO2-expelling heater for your bedroom!

Well, let's see, GJDailleut, apparently, solar flares were so bad in 2005 that communications satellitesd were affected, insomuch that sat-TV companies published bulletins about interrupted and disrupted coverage, annd AFN Radio having to cancel sat-received programs from the States. Could that not be conclusive evidence that the Sun could have caused and could be causing this so-called climate change? Further, scientists declared that the Mt. Pinatubo Eruptions in the Philippines blew more CO2 and other greenhouse gasses into the atmoshere than mankind could collectively do in 1,000 years. Seems that'd be pretty heavy truth to the "religion" of man-made climate change denial...

These delegates in Copenhagen cheered Robert Mugabe, Hugo Chavez, and Mamoohd Ahmedinejad, in their anti-Western rants.

I think that speak for itself.

    "Green" is the new red.

Hey guys. Gets kind of lonely when you all just sit there agreeing with each other, doesn't it?

I see nanda is all alone here on and GJ. OK. I suppose my two cents is that I really expected about as much from the US, so I am not disappointed. American leadership, if not finished, has become extremely unreliable. After the driver gets changed, this bus will get rolling again. Japan can't do it all, even with its new pal India. Chinese fire drill anyone?

WilliB... I see no plausible reason for all delegates to have cheered those dictators, or for nobody to have cheered them, so your remark is about the most meaningless thing I have read all day. We all know that even Hitler has fans. Maybe you know some of them.

Blue Tiger... yeah. A solar flare in 2005 and a volcanic eruption were so bad that they affected the CO2 levels and global temperatures all the way back to the Industrial Revolution. Some phenomena.

Sarge... hey. Merry Christmas. You are right about the jets. The American delegation should have taken hot air balloons for all the good they are doing.

Ikedunne... you are mixing your apocryphal metaphors. How can you shred emails, and would they be white and fluffy? or hot and sparky? The emails did not disprove global warming. They discussed how to present data in a biased way. The same data were reported accurately by two other large agencies anyway. The truth wants to be free, as they say.

Nice to see everyone all happy and chortling that the summit is looking bad. I suppose pretty soon now, you can all go back to your dreamland of burning what you want when you want, ripping carbon out of the ground and throwing it into the air. The Chinese will be happy to do the same, and the Saudis will oblige. The Japanese are already inventing better air conditioners. Get your finger pointing muscles ready for when summer temps get to 120F. That is the future that denial will produce for all of us.

In the future the global meetings of this kind should be done through internet and/or other media until possible agreement is reached ,then leaders can meet and sign. It is painful to know that so much waste was produced through this almost useless gathering when every single person know that we should reduce waste through our activities ,not more. I am glad that ETS bill was defeated in Australia parliament before Copenhagen.

Speed - Summer temps may indeed get up to 120F ( 49 degrees C ) or they may go down to minus 20 C someday, but even your great great great grandchildren won't see that.

Look, not matter what comes out of this, let's hope there are mandates by local municipalities that provide tax breaks for people using alternative energy such as solar, wind, rain, etc. as well as more money with tax exemptions and incentives. Oh wait...

Whew. Thanks Sarge. That makes me feel so much better. You know, you should be telling these "experts" what's what. Your clear thinking and vast scientific knowledge are so comforting in these troubled times.

Seems to me though, that my family in Arizona is ALREADY hitting those temps at 11 AM in July, so you might have some splainin to do.

    Sarge

These clowns in Copenhagen make me laugh.

Speed, I think your family in Arizona has been fibbin' to you. Yuma, Arizona, did record 124F in July, but that was way back in 1995. It's usually around 107.
