Clinton has accumulated 1,758 delegates to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 1,076. Those totals include both pledged delegates from primaries and caucuses, as well as superdelegates, the party insiders who can back the candidate of their choice regardless of how their state votes.

Only pledged delegates matter. Any attempt by the super delegates to sway the primary against 'the will of the people' as expressed in the Democratic primary -- as flawed as that process is from a democratic perspective -- would spell disaster for the party. Hell, if they so-called super delegates tried to pull that, even I'd protest by not voting for the candidate.

So who is actually winning with pledged delegates? The only ones that matter? With pledged delegates, Clinton is ahead by 250. As far as process goes, that's all there is.

Further, by every possible metric, Clinton is ahead.

Clinton has gotten 2.4 million more votes than Sanders, has won 20 out of 34 states and territories, and even beats Sanders in the recent enthusiasm poll by10 % ( HCR 54% to Sanders' 44%)

I'm a Sanders kinda guy. My party pretty much has chosen HCR. After tonight, if the polls are accurate (which is a toss up) the end will be clear as day: the democratic base chose HCR.

And, if so, this is why (and its really rather interesting)

Clinton Winning States that Best Represent the Democratic Party

Clinton is dominating the states that best mirror party.--

I think all GOP candidates feel Hillary will be Democratic nominee. They hardly mention Bernie. Trump gave a new nickname to H. Sander's supporter threw dollar bills to cars driving to attend He's tall"eople said that how money collected from poor people are used.

Hillary will gain more delegates. Hillary has been DEM member but Sanders has never been. Dem is not interested by Socialists or Communist voters.

So Trump and Clinton race.

I am proud to be a democrat. Is the party frustrating sometimes? Absolutely. But I am also grown up enough that I don't believe in prophets, oracles or career politicians who insist they will 'fix the system'.

Toshiba,

I'm in all likelihood going to vote for Clinton, but I also have nothing but respect and admiration for Bernie Sanders.

He's not a Communist. Not even a little bit. That's a childish and intentional distortion of his ideas about not screwing the middle class that conservative opponents have seized upon to demise him. Sadly, just enough Americans are ignorant enough of what true communism is that they believe the propaganda from the American political right. In fact, it's that ignorance the the Right counts upon in order the erode support for Sanders and his platform.

As far as being a Socialist is concerned, Sanders doesn't really fit the common perception (or misperception, to be more accurate) either. He's a Democratic Socialist who has never really advocated a flat redistribution of wealth in America. Rather, he has always championed fairness in how Americans are able to pursue the American dream. He advocates a revision of the tax code that effectively prevents the wealthy from hiding their wealth via loopholes from legal -- and fair -- taxation that will benefit the very social structure that allowed them to amass their wealth in the first place.

Sanders is a good man and has some wonderful ideas and it is not fair or accurate to demonize him as some sort of Communist in the vein of Stalin or Socialist in the vein of Mussolini. He is neither.

The beauty of Sanders is that he's fighting for everyone, not just Democrats. He asks questions about issues that are plaguing the average American regardless of party.

Trump is getting pittiful. I have not heard anything about core issues from him All he talks about is nothing but BS as always. Who cares how New Yorker he is. He is getting too old.

@LFR:I like Sanders but that has nothing to do with DEM peole select their delegates,

The delegate situation is meaningless when the top vote-getter is the nominee.

I'm sure New Yorkers will appreciate Trump recently confusing 9/11 with 7-eleven. What a doofus.

Heh, maybe that's how he saw all those atrabs partying. Only they were off their faces on the way back from an after two days earlier...

Toshiko,

You made a comment that, "Dem is not interested by Socialists or Communist voters," implying that Sanders was a Socialist or Communist candidate. He's not.

You also seem to think his supporters can be characterized as "Socialist" and "Communists." They aren't. They're traditionally Democratic voters, along with a large representation of Independents and quite a few Republicans as well.

It's not about you or I liking Sanders or not. It's about you and others mistakenly claiming anyone is a Socialist or Communist.

I've got news for Hillary. Even if she wins New York, her critics won't become quiet. And she might be indicted for her security-breaching emails.

"A big win for Trump is crucial if he hopes to clinch the nomination before the party’s convention in July. If the race isn’t settled by then, he faces the very real prospect of losing to Ted Cruz"

If the Republicans nominate Ted Cruz, even Hillary will crush him, he won't win more than a few states including Texas and Utah.

All the eggs in the Hillary basket is a bit risky. As Serrano points out she is under a very serious investigation. Very much a reckless decision to use her own server conducting State Depertment business. Oh, then she lied about it at first, then she back peddled, and still lied. And that's only the public facts so far.

@LFRA: Have you talked ro DEM big shots in your state? Discuss to learn what they say about Sanders. I did.

MarkG,

Oh, then she lied about it at first, then she back peddled, and still lied. And that's only the public facts so far.

And you Republicans have Iraq. How is the diamond in the desert working out these days?

Hillary makes more money for one speech than Sanders makes in a year. She is a financial genius compared to that bumbling Sanders! He ought to quit and stop causing all this aggravation for the annointed one, lol.

All of cable channel medias are reporting Trump is winning NY and H seems to have enough delegates. Cruz and Sanders are going to Pennsylvania. So not yet. Cloony's fund raising gala in CALIFORNIA story, no media talks now
