What??? Sorry, this has nothing to do with her being a woman, but it sounds like whoever gave the 20 year old -- who has not yet finished her degree -- the job is simply providing cannon-fodder because they don't want to do it themselves. It's like the cowardly sheriff who deputizes the next guy on the street before running off because the so-and-so boys are coming to town.

RIP Marisol, I am Mexican, I know my drug cartels, you get the PLATA or the PLOMO, meaning you get money, bribes and get on the pay roll for the scum narco mafias or get a few bullets through your head for trying to be brave, honest etc...

elbudamexicano maybe that's her plan. That surely would pay her student loan and set her up a bit with some experience in the handling of these guys in the future. Or maybe she'll hire Blackwater secretly to come in and take care of these guys.

The appointment of Valles Garcia as Police Chief has achieved a least one purpose - it's brought the issue to the front pages all over the world. As for Valles Garcia herself, I really hope she succeeds.
