Pueblo County announced Wednesday that an adult there had died of the disease, which was likely spread by fleas from a dead animal.

A dead chipmunk.

Wow!! and this is not reported as major news?? Why not, but ebola was a panic.

Ebola is most often transmitted by human to human contact. It is relatively easy to catch and hard to treat. As of now there is no drug therapy for ebola and a vaccine is only in the developmental and testing phase. Once an outbreak occurs it takes extraordinary measures and concerted efforts to contain the disease.

The most common forms of plague (bubonic and septicemic) are transmitted to humans via the bite of an infected flea. A little knowledge and appropriate caution make it pretty simple to avoid. All forms of plague can be effectively treated with common antibiotics and simple public health measures are very effective in containment and control.

In 2013 the WHO reported 783 confirmed cases of plague worldwide with 126 people dying from it.

In 2014 an ebola outbreak in west Africa resulted in over sixteen thousand confirmed cases with almost seven thousand fatalities.

Ebola is way more scary than the plague.
