Nothing like the smell of Willy Pete in the morning (to paraphase a certain movie). Just out of interest, does anybody know if the US still uses WP grenades.

WP is used in thermite grenades use for destruction of any equipment left in an area, like melting holes in engines and things of that nature.

Someone with a political agenda has organized this:

"In Kabul on Sunday, hundreds of people marched near Kabul University to protest the U.S. military’s role in the deaths. Protesters carried signs denouncing the U.S. and chanted anti-American slogans."

Can't anyone be bothered to organize an equal and opposite march? Protesting the Taliban's role in inviting these deaths onto the Afghani people, for example? Or is no-one quite as spontaneous as that yet?

Ah, so no one knows what could have caused it, so might as well throw white phosphorus out there.

Thanks for the feedback sharky. Having used WP many years ago, I just wondered if the US were still using it or if they had come up with something even more effective.

teleprompter you're so sure of your post.

I'd like to see where this WP came from. < :-)

nandakandamanda-actually the Taliban were the peaceful government of Afghanistan, albeit a trifle stone-age compared to our society, so they didn't invite these deaths. We Americans invaded and are killing all these Afghans because of our political and religious agendas, so don't blame the Taliban. Anyway, it doesn't matter, we never signed to the International Court so we can torture, massacre or invade any country we like (except maybe China and Russia).

As someone on the Left can you explain Obama's religious agenda?

As for white phosphorous; what kind of sick, perverted individual or country drops this on anyone? Let alone on little children? They don't hate America and Israel because they are free. They hate them because they fry innocents with weapons of mass destruction, like this.

Den Den we went into Afghanistan because the Taliban attacked us. They killed almost 3,000 Americans. That's why we went there.

We've screwed up our war there, that's true, but the reason is very plain.

But I still want to see where it came from. < :-)

I was under the impression that military aircraft had detailed logs showing when they flew, who flew them, where they flew to & what if any munitions they carried. Surely the US military could find one member of the UN that it trusts & show these logs. Yes they could be falsified, but the knock on effect would be incredibly complicated because some one some where would be down on one type of munitions & up on another & I can’t see many supply sergeants wanting to sign off on that.

This whole thing sounds like a well orchestrated Taliban set up. They may be stone age in some ways, but only in some ways.

If I was incharge of the unit that may have dropped bombs on the wrong target, I might be persuaded to just keep my mouth shut as long as possible. It's not the smart thing to do, but I can see this happening.

I'm not saying that this wasn't the Taliban. They've used it twice before.

Like I said, I'll want the investigation on this to go through. < :-)
